Happy Halloween! 🎃

We've had a spooky brekkies, opened some Halloween pressies and been to catch the FANGtastic team at perform their Halloween show!

We've got a family party this afternoon, and then it's off to Hampden Square for the treats trail! Who's joining us? 🕷🕸 If anyone is having trouble downloading the map please message me and I'll help.

Today is also Diwali! For those celebrating, I hope you all have a wonderful day🕯🧡. We'll be lighting our diya lamp that my eldest made in Nursery a couple of years ago 🥰.

If you're joining us for a spot of Trick or Treating on Hampden Square this year, here's some useful information:

🕷 You can download the map for free in my bio

Should you wish to spot pumpkins and spell the spooky word as well as trick or treat, print a map beforehand and follow along on there! (If you don't have a printer you can just look on your phone). Spotting pumpkins is something little monsters can take part in, spelling the spooky word is an added challenge for the slightly older monsters!

🕷 Parking is street only

The car park is annoyingly shut this year, but there are a multiple residential roads around the square with unrestricted parking 🚗. There are also bus routes 125, 184 and 382 nearby.

🕷 has optional extras

You can book pumpkin carving or slime making at as an extra activity! DM to book (there is a charge for these activities).

🕷 The trail opens at 5pm

And will run until 6.30, OR until sweets have run out! It is totally self led; take part in your own time. There is no order in which to visit the shops either, so if there is a big queue at one shop, pop to another to avoid the crowds!

Can you believe it's been 25 years since Julia Donaldson's was first published?!

I can't think of a more Autumnal children's book, so what could be better than a trip to the theatre to see The Gruffalo on stage during the Autumn Half Term! 🍂

This adaptation of the classic story is brilliant. I don't want to give too much away... but the snake is fabulous! 🐍🕺 Expect catchy songs and a relaxed environment as always. Kids are welcome to join in, and the running time is less than an hour - perfect for the littlest of fans (recommended for 3+ but suitable for all).

Tickets start at £12, which is also a pretty purse friendly price for a treat trip out to see a show!

It's happening! 🎃🤗

Now in our third year, Halloween on Hampden Square will be back on Thursday 31st October for more trick or treating fun!

For those that haven't taken part before, Halloween on Hampden Square is a FREE, self-led, trick or treat trail around participating shops on Halloween evening. Follow the map (which I will make downloadable) around the square, looking out for pumpkins and jumbled letters which will spell a spooky word. As you pass by the shops, enter in and collect a treat! The trail is a lovely safe alternative to traditional trick or treating for little ones, or it can serve as a first stop before knocking on doors.

This year we will be starting at the very slightly later time of 5pm, which means it will be a bit darker. The trail ends at 6.30pm OR once the treats have run out.

We had over 700 families last year so we will prep for more this year, but I'm afraid once the sweets are gone they're gone!

One of our favourite local days out every year is the annual spooky event at in ! The vibe is always amazing and lots of people dress up - adults included!
