SHAPE MS

🇪🇸 La tercera y última reunión transnacional del proyecto europeo Shape MS tuvo lugar en Torre del Mar (España) el 27 de marzo 🎉

Las organizaciones socias participantes nos reunimos para intercambiar ideas, evaluar los avances del proyecto y fortalecer nuestra misión: apoyar a las personas con esclerosis múltiple en su camino hacia la empleabilidad 💼🧡

💡 A través de nuestra plataforma de aprendizaje, ofrecemos recursos clave para que personas jóvenes adultas con EM puedan acceder a información sobre derechos, financiación, emprendimiento y adaptaciones en el empleo. También brindamos herramientas esenciales para empleadores/as, fomentando entornos de trabajo más inclusivos y accesibles.

SHAPE MS

En Shape MS promovemos el aprendizaje y la ampliación de oportunidades con una serie de insignias en línea para demostrar el desarrollo personal, los logros y la creación de una gran red de solidaridad e inclusión para las personas con esclerosis múltiple.

¿Eres empleador/a? Regístrate y completa con éxito los módulos de la sección 'Información y apoyo a empleadores/as' en la plataforma del proyecto. Hay tres insignias disponibles.

¿Eres una persona con esclerosis múltiple? Hay cuatro insignias a tu disposición tras registrarte en nuestra plataforma y completar los módulos correspondientes.

SHAPE MS

📢 Cada 18 de diciembre se conmemora el Día Nacional de la Esclerosis Múltiple.

📄 Un diagnóstico rápido y el inicio precoz del tratamiento son vitales para mejorar el pronóstico de la enfermedad y reducir la progresión de la discapacidad asociada a la EM.

🔬 La EM es una enfermedad autoinmune, neurodegenerativa, heterogénea y cambiante que afecta a más de 55.000 personas en nuestro país, especialmente a mujeres.

📢 Las personas con EM tienen necesidades que no se están atendiendo y que les afectan de manera directa en su vida diaria, empezando por la dificultad a la hora de valorar una posible discapacidad.

🧡 Desde el proyecto Shape MS hemos creado una plataforma dirigida a personas con esclerosis múltiple, empleadores/as y cuidadores/as, con el objetivo de mejorar la empleabilidad y calidad de vida de las primeras. Para que la plataforma sea realmente útil y se adapte a las necesidades de las personas usuarias -y antes de lanzar la versión final- necesitamos tu colaboración, por lo que si te interesa esta oportunidad no dudes en contactarnos.

Productive online meeting with the project partners today! 🙌 We covered important updates, including:

Exciting new research from Professor Ian Galea and his team at the University of Southampton reveals that inflammation outside the brain may contribute to the progression of MS. Over two and a half years, 50 participants with progressive MS gave weekly urine samples to measure inflammation. MRI scans and clinical assessments showed a link between infections and nerve cell loss in the spinal cord.

This discovery emphasises the importance of treating infections early and getting the recommended vaccinations. Bladder infections are particularly common in MS, so it is vital to discuss any urinary symptoms with your healthcare team.

These findings could pave the way for innovative treatment strategies to slow the progression of MS. Researchers are now investigating why the protective barrier of the brain and spinal cord can fail and how it can be strengthened.

Last week our learning, teaching and training activity in the framework of the ShapeMS project took place in Vicenza (Italy).

💼 Over the course of 3 days we were able to share our educational materials aimed at improving the employability of people with multiple sclerosis, engaging employers from the different countries participating in the project to shape a better future:

🌟 Thanks to the involvement of the participants, who shared their knowledge, experience, and views, we will be able to deliver the final and improved version of the modules we have worked on before the piloting starts.

🙌 In addition, during these days we also held a transnational ShapeMS meeting to evaluate the work that has been done so far and to define the necessary steps for the next phase of the project.
