This year we’re launching a new stage for sperm and eggs. Here’s why.
To stay relevant, new fans are crucial. New generations of fans are vital for keeping both artists and music festivals alive and kicking. This year, we’ve added an additional stage to help create future fans of great music by ‘injecting’ live recordings by the headlining artists into their DNA at the earliest stage possible—before they even develop into fetuses.
In vitro fertilization (IVF) is a medical procedure that involves joining a woman’s egg and a man’s sperm in a laboratory dish. It helps millions get pregnant every year. Recent studies show that music improves the fertilization rate during an IVF process. So, in collaboration with renowned designer @lovehulten, we’ve created a unique, fully functional stage that will play live recordings from Way Out West’s headlining artists for what might be the largest, yet smallest crowd in history: sperm and eggs getting ”ready to rumble” in laboratory. The Future Fan Stage will be placed and activated at the Swedish IVF clinic Eliva in Stockholm.
Welcome, future music fans.

Augustine's music carries a sweet blend of sun-drenched indie pop, filled with retro-tinged and cinematic soundscapes – where his shimmering falsetto and powerful songwriting create a whole that’s hard to resist. Happy to welcome him to Slottsskogen in August!
Distorted guitars and perfect melodies have always constituted the recipe for power pop, but it’s been decades since anyone reimagined the genre with the same grace and genius as Alvvays. We are more than happy to welcome the band and their honeyed chaos to Slottsskogen this summer! More info and tickets at wayoutwest.se

After spending the 90s in the stoner rock underground, Queens of the Stone Age rose to notoriety with their break-through album ‘Rated R’ in 2000. While maintaining their Californian desert-vibes and their love for fuzzy, cyclical riffs, here we found the band expanding their musical horizons while creating a truly category-evading album. A success that wasn’t only matched, but even surpassed, on the Dave Grohl featured follow-up ‘Songs for the Deaf’ from 2002. Ever since then, Queens of the Stone Age has remained one the most influential and prolific heavy rock bands in the world and the only constant member – singer, guitarist and mastermind Josh Homme – shows no signs of slowing down.

After being rightfully hailed as one of the most talented and exciting artists in the UK, the eclectic London-rapper J Hus decided to step away from touring and music-making after the release of his celebrated sophomore album ‘Big Conspiracy’ in 2020. But despite his elusiveness, J Hus’s ever-growing popularity hasn’t slowed down. Quite the opposite. And with his eagerly awaited new album ‘Beautiful and Brutal Yard’ (2023), J Hus established that he is still leading the pack.
