Musikhjälpen! This year, .aterbaby performed a beautiful show at Annedalskyrkan. Next year, she’ll return to the festival as a regular visitor, and for the benefit of Musikhjälpen and this year’s theme, “All Children Have the Right to Go to School,” you can now join her for an afternoon in Slottsskogen.

The winner will get to hang with waterbaby in Slottsskogen for an afternoon of fun + receive a 3-Day VIP ticket to the whole festival.

BLOOD ORANGE [UK] CONFIRMED FOR WAY OUT WEST!

There’s something deeply hopeful in the way Blood Orange has become one of the most celebrated and influential artists of his generation. It’s proof that a body of work built on bold, eclectic instincts can still resonate widely. Devonté Hynes has never confined himself to a single lane, something his wildly varied list of collaborators makes clear. Blood Orange moves through music history like someone crossing invisible borders, never nostalgic, always curious. One could argue that his sound has always been a collage rather than a genre: airy R&B, dreamy pop, post-punk, classical influences, and a distinctly New York sense of melancholy. But beneath the lush production and the shapeshifting aesthetics runs a clear line, a political and emotional dedication to telling stories about what it means to be black and q***r in America today. That blend is vivid on his latest album “Essex Honey,” where Hynes returns to the place where he grew up, exploring his personal history with the precision of someone who knows that sound can hold what language can’t. And as always with Blood Orange, the result is something singular — a world impossible to mistake for anyone else’s. This summer at Way Out West, that world will unfold on stage.

ANOUSHKA SHANKAR [UK] CONFIRMED FOR WAY OUT WEST!

Anoushka Shankar seems to live several lives at once. As a masterful sitarist, composer, collaborator, author, activist and boundary-breaker, she has spent more than twenty-five years reshaping how Indian classical music can sound and feel. Shankar has an ability to make ancient instruments feel startlingly present: to move effortlessly between classical ragas and electronic textures, between meditative intimacy and wide-screen feelings. Across albums like “Rise,” “Traveller,” “Traces of You”, “Love Letters P.S.” and her recent series of EP’s, she has woven grief, longing, political urgency, and personal transformation into a body of work that resists all easy categories. Her music never treats tradition as a museum piece, instead it becomes something living and expressive, full of emotional depth. This summer at Way Out West, Anoushka Shankar brings that rare artistic legacy to the stage.

GEESE [US] CONFIRMED FOR WAY OUT WEST!

It’s been years since a band disrupted the rock continuum in a significant way. And not by resurrecting old myths but by pulling the entire tradition toward something wilder, stranger, and perhaps even more tender. Geese are that band right now. A New York group operating with the reckless curiosity of a debutant and the beaten wisdom of veterans. Their first album “Projector” arrived in 2021, but it’s only with their third and latest album “Getting Killed” that the world has woken up, blinking and bewildered. At the center of this eruption stands Cameron Winter, a singer whose slurred yet radiant voice seems pulled from the edges of a dream. He doesn’t deliver lyrics so much as exhale them: fractured images, surreal fragments, emotional riddles that linger long after the songs end. His 2024 solo album “Heavy Metal” hinted at this instinct, but with Geese it becomes something even larger. “Getting Killed” is adventurous, noisy, melodic, unhinged, and precise all at once. No wonder critics and fans treat the album like a precious treasure. This summer at Way Out West, Geese arrive not as the next big thing, but as the thing itself.

CLIPSE [US] CONFIRMED FOR WAY OUT WEST!

Few hip-hop acts share the same iconic status as Clipse. The Virginia Beach duo, made up of brothers Gene “Malice” Thornton and Terrence “Pusha T” Thornton, are responsible for some of the most complete and groundbreaking albums of the 2000s. And when the brothers reunited to release new music, the result was nothing short of striking. Their comeback album ”Let God Sort Em Out” is a near-perfect hip-hop record crafted by two of the genre’s great geniuses. Clipse, we’ve missed you – welcome to Slottsskogen this August!

With WOW Covers, you’re invited to get creative and explore the 2026 line-up by making your own version of a song from one of the artists performing at the festival. A selection of covers that catch our eye – whether for their vibe, creativity, or simply because they made us smile – will be shared on our social channels, and the creators will receive festival tickets to Way Out West 2026.

Deadline: Jan 5th

➡️ Step 1: Pick a song by an artist performing at Way Out West 2026. (More artists TBA, but choose from those already announced.)

➡️ Step 2: Get creative! Record a video of your cover – solo, as a duo, or with your band.

➡️ Step 3: Upload your video to a non-expiring link, for example Google Drive or an unlisted YouTube link, and then email the link to [email protected] with the subject line “WOW Covers”.

The creators of the best covers will be featured on our social channels and win festival tickets. Each participant in a winning entry receives one 3-day ticket (up to max five 3-day tickets per winning cover). Accommodation and travel are not included in the prize. Winners will be notified by email and announced on our channels.
