LORDE [NZ] CONFIRMED FOR WAY OUT WEST!

Lorde belongs to that exclusive group of artists who have radically reshaped contemporary music – something she’s done by giving the finger to both expectations and clichés. Already on her debut ‘Pure Heroine’ in 2013, the then 16-year-old New Zealand singer-songwriter showed that she had no interest in pleasing anyone. Far removed from the chart pop that Lorde found so fundamentally dull, she created music full of forward-thinking energy and lyrics so sharp they cut straight through the noise – a feat that led none other than David Bowie to dub her “the future of music.” In June she released her fourth full-length project ‘Virgin’ which she will take to Sweden for a sold-out show at Stockholm’s Annexet in December. Next summer, she’ll make her Gothenburg debut at Way Out West!

Anyone that ever witnessed a show with Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds knows that it’s a potentially life-altering experience. Less a concert than a ritual, Nick Cave invites participation as he converts sorrow into exaltation. With The Bad Seeds at his side, he turns the stage into a place of deep intimacy. A gathering where despair and beauty collide, where songs become prayers and the audience becomes his congregation. This summer, that communion will come alive at Way Out West.

What a start! Four Early Bird ticket batches sold out yesterday, and there are only a few hundred tickets left in the fifth and final batch currently on sale. This has never happened before in the history of our festival!

Once the last Early Bird tickets are gone, Standard tickets will go on sale immediately. For Youth, the final tickets are already available.

We’ve only announced three acts so far and usually end up with over 120, so there’s so much more to come. Thank you all!
