가래떡 Garaetteok Mom preparing for the first day of the 2023 on the last day of 2022

Short-grain rice steamed, pounded, and rolled to form a long, cylindrical rice cake. A staple of New Year’s Day, it is sliced sideways and used as the main ingredient of 떡국tteokguk (rice cake soup), also main ingredient of 떡볶이 Tteokbokki !!
