Dear Soling Sailors in Sweden

As You already know Norway is hoisting Soling World Championship 2024 at Hankø.

We already have 33 registered boats from ten nations and have an optimistic goal of reaching 50 participants and everything is settled for a fantastic championship at Hankø.

The website SolingWorlds24.com is regularly updated, and you will find a lot of useful and practical information under the "practical information" menu.

The Notice of Race will be published shortly.

In the next few weeks, the social program and other useful information will be published, so stay tuned to the website.

SWE 241 är anmäld till VM på Hankø nästa år. Det är redan 29 lag som är föranmälda. Det ska bli en riktig seglingsfest och det vore kul om fler svenska båtar skulle vara med. Föranmälan är gratis.

Sommens Segelsällskap soling SWE155 in the Norwegian open championship

The idea of bringing the SWE155 to the 2022 competition came up after my participation as a crew in the 2021 Norwegian soling championship. The last year I could experience the very nice atmosphere of the Norwegian fleet, together with the pleasure of sailing a “one design” regatta, with a boat that I absolutely love.

My club, in Tranås, published some of my words, and Dan Viklund was kind enough to translate them into Swedish.

I am looking forward for a 2023 edition, but as I mention in the article, I need to train much more, preferably with some of you, Swedish crews, that are for sure around here!

Bronselaget tok NM Gull.

Herman Horn-Johannessen fikk flashback tilbake til Sydney-OL da han ble gjenforent med sine to bronsevinner-makkere Paul Davis og Espen Stokkeland i Soling under Norgesmesterskapet i Oslo. Hans Wallén är en av vårt lands mest meriterade seglare. Han började vinna stora mästerskap redan som junior och nöjde sig inte förrän han tog sin OS-medalj. Förutom att vara en duktig seglare, som presterat i allt från Drake till Tornado, är Hans också känd för att vara en mycket underhållande historieberättare som gärna delar med sig av mer eller mindre sanna berättelser hämtade ur hans rika seglarliv. Det smaker av gode, gamle dager når man ser på deltagerlisten i Soling- og Yngling-NM. Men så skal det da også markeres at det er 100 år siden skaperen av de to klassene ble født. Jan Herman Linge ble født 28. januar i 1922, og da han døde 25. juni 2007 hadde han tegnet en lang rekke båter....
