One of the most highly respected figures in D&B, Japanese DJ and producer Makoto Shimizu is famed for his unique blend of jazz and soul influences with A-list collaborations across the spectrum, from DJ Marky to S.P.Y.

Makoto began experimenting with the genre through his own compositions. His productions were of such quality that they caught the attention of none other than the legendary LTJ Bukem, who went on to sign Makoto to his seminal Good Looking Records imprint in 1999. Since then Makoto has become one of the most highly respected producers and DJs in D&B, pushing his unique blend of fast breaks and soul-drenched music to every corner of the globe.

🚨📢⚠️ Kings of Bass presents THE drum & bass legend and pioneer of rave: LTJ BUKEM.

His most recent adventures include the stages of Glastonbury 2023, remixing Above & Beyond’s ‘Homecoming’ - dropping a banger of drum and bass guest mix on ABGT455, in addition to his globally renown album “Logical Progression”. 🫨

A pioneer of rave, LTJ Bukem has defined the sound of drum and bass, breaks and jungle for over three decades. One of the first artists to bring drum & bass from the underground to the mainstage, his solo productions such as ’Atlantis (I Need You)’ and ‘Horizons’ are staples of UK dance culture. LTJ Bukem’s enduring influence as a producer, DJ and tastemaker is unparalleled - and not to be missed.

Joining the line up on support duties is Basemanguy (UK), a jamaican-british DJ making serious waves across Europe with his recent feture on BBC's 1XTRA. A long-term scholar of Sound System culture, his signature blend of Soul & Bass brings the best of liquid, foundations and bangers. 🔥 🚒

The Kings of Bass gates open once again, featuring a triple threat from three corners of the globe:

DJ DRAGON: Thailand’s infamous O.G whose recent Karma Kastle & Boiler Room all-vinyl sets have left festival goers with their minds blown.

DAN STEZO: A part of acclaimed Dutch Drum and Bass producer Lenzman’s The North Quarter imprint, Dan’s introspective lyrics, unique style and approach are finding ways to new stages and listeners worldwide.

RITA BASS (MEL): DJ, producer and lover of all things bass, breaks and UKG. Her sets are playful and energetic, mixing deep and dark rhythms with modern dubstep, rolling basslines and heaving percussion - having opening set feathers for acclaimed artists such as Tim Reaper, Sicaria, Tamen and Pugilist in her bass cap.

With state of the art lighting and the behemoth Big Bass Soundsystem - join our all-star lineup from near and far as they shell out thundering Breakbeat, Grime, UK Bass, Dubstep, Jungle and Drum & Bass.
