💜 Today is International Day of Persons with Disabilities! Here are highlights from this year's edition of da:ns focus – EveryBody ran from 19 – 21 Apr, where we presented inclusive dance company Restless Dance Theatre's Listen To See and the Monica Bill Barnes & Company's The Running Show (featuring 20 Singapore dancers aged 12 to 70). We rounded off the weekend with a range of free programmes, including the participatory EveryBody Dance Now! dance along sessions.
For context, in 2023, we launched a new series of themed dance weekends called da:ns focus, with the very first weekends being da:ns focus – EveryBody. With a focus on inclusivity, diversity and participation, this theme encourages everybody and every body to experience dance through dance performances and participatory programmes.
We continue to work and collaborate with artists, practitioners and partners from Singapore and beyond to create accessible and inclusive programmes for all, so that more can enjoy and experience the transformative power of the arts.
