"Nostalgia" in Bloom

Given the theme 'Nostalgia", I created a design that aims to evoke its bittersweet feeling - a mixture of joy, longing and reminiscence, using the traditional fan form and primary colors (red and blue). The traditional fan shape provides a sense of familiarity, while a colour combination of contrasting bold red and calm blue was commonly seen in the older days' floral designs. Hues of burgundy, purple, lavender and indigo were added to create depths, balance and harmony.

How do I summarize my #2024? An unexpectedly busy and yet fulfilling year, and a year full of surprises. During the last 12 months, I did amazing projects, met many new/old friends, took up challenges that I didn't think I would take in the first place. I failed to capture the seconds and minutes that just slipped through my fingers, but good memories stay.

Welcome #2025! I foresee it to be another challenging year, but with God, all things are possible 💕 🌹🎉

It has been months since I last did a challenging design such that I feel my fingers are getting rusty nowadays! This weekend I had fully immersed myself in creating this piece and am happy with the finished design 🌹😀
