𝐃𝐨 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐖𝐚𝐧𝐭?
I have witnessed Scarlet Riot live for a few times. No doubt the band is filled with energy, passion, dedication and discipline. Scarlet Riot is a 4 piece band. Three elegant ladies and of course, a thorn among them.
Let's start with 𝘾𝙤𝙧𝙖-𝙇𝙚𝙞𝙜𝙝, a lady with beautiful colourful hair. She's a strong woman who fights countless battles and demons in disguise. The frontwoman of the band will catch your attention when she starts singing. She's also raised mental health awareness issues.
The riff maker of the band. The one whose hair resembles a queen's crown. 𝙎𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙡𝙖 isn't just any ordinary guitarist of the band. She's a teacher who taught guitar lessons at Yamaha Music School. A fine lady who plays the guitar without a doubt like a child who memorizes the nursery rhymes. She isn't just a guitarist or a teacher. She is well versed in singing as well. I've seen her sang in multiple open mics. I must admit she has a different kind of technique in singing. I used to call her "The one who whacks her guitar and not giving a single damn about it." She may look soft but wait till you see her with a guitar. She's performed and engaged herself in multiple bands to express her love for music. I've jammed with her once. She played the drum and came out with delicious beats. We clicked instantly and came out with a self-composed song.
Moving forward, the drummmmaaaahhhh!!! A lady drummaaahhhhh (No, not drama but the drummer.) 𝙉𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣 sort of the quiet one (As what I saw) in the band. I remembered that she only spoke a few words when I asked her something. Nonetheless, I was surprised that she's the drummer of the band when the first time I saw Scarlet Riot performed. I can't register how good she is until now. She's pretty good. Get it? Pretty, good, and pretty good. You know what I am trying to say, don't you?
Lastly, we have king 𝙆𝙞𝙛. The bassist of the band. Bang bing b**g bang bang bang bang. Hahaha!!! Nope! That's not a Phrygian dominant bassline but you know a bassist always hit the right spot.
Kif is a humble and a good bassist. How do I define a good bassist? Well, I might be wrong here but when he joined Scarlet Riot he proves his skills on and off stage.
Like I have said before Scarlet Riot is a band full of dedication and discipline in music.
They must have chosen the best out of the best. Of course, every band must have this ideology.
Scarlet Riot released their single on 1st May 2020 called:
"𝙄 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩."
Well, I know what I want, do you?
The song depicts a woman who wants to express her feelings for a guy.
A guy who is too hot to resist, whom she wants more and more each second to the extent she's willing to surrender or take control of this guy.
Who's this guy? Why is he special?
He seems to be the dominant one but at the same time, maybe not so dominant. Are they concealing their affection?
What if the man didn't get the woman's message? The man is making this woman going insane unknowingly.
𝙄𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙤𝙧 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙤𝙗𝙨𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣?
Is she a psychopath with a hidden agenda because of her rejected attempt to win this man's heart?
What if this man is attached, engaged or married?
𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙬𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙞𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙮 𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙖 𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙨𝙝𝙚'𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙮 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙜𝙚?
What if both of them are not getting any satisfaction from their partner? What if in the midst they found someone or saw someone that fits their missing puzzle pieces?
Desire, everyone has it, even I have it.
Like Lucifer's favourite question,
"what is it that you truly desire?"
𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙨𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣?
No one knows the answer to satisfaction till now. Even couples who have been married for years aren't satisfied with their partners.
There is a whole list of dissatisfaction, discontent and displeasure.
Here are some:
𝙇𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚, 𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙤𝙛 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙖𝙞𝙙, 𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙤𝙛 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚, 𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙤𝙛 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙤𝙛 𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙮, 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙨 𝙘𝙖𝙣'𝙩 𝙗𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙫𝙚𝙨, 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙗𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢 𝙗𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙫𝙚𝙨, 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧, 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙧 𝙢𝙖𝙮𝙗𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙨𝙚𝙭.
We all know all these are liabilities.
What's yours?
How long will she continue to have these thoughts? She must have been clouded by promises, assurance or maybe her faith to continue in a relationship that does not benefit her. Deep in her heart, she knows 𝙨𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙜𝙪𝙮 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙣𝙚𝙧.
There are many reasons to leave but there are certain reasons not to leave too. Especially if a couple has been together for years.
Of course, the next guy wouldn't be perfect like the previous but can one predict what is the true form of happiness and when will one get it?
You have to seek it. If you get it, grasp of the happiness, and work together to sustain it, grow it, and nurture it. This goes vice versa.
Some of you might think the otherwise of this song. I am writing this based on my own experience. An experience that I will never forget until the day I die.
For some reason, people might take this song as a date night chakalaka boom boom song. I am not saying it's wrong. *chuckles*
Life is nothing but a dream.
𝘼𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙣𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙧 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬?
Before you listen to this song, there's something I want you to do. I want you to listen to this song and let your imagination run around your mind. It's fun if you have another opinion about this song.
𝙏𝙤 𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙤𝙬𝙣.
Lastly, I'll give 8/10 for this song. Production-wise is good but a bit of clarity is needed for Kif's bass. With all due respect, the band have their reasons to why they wanted Kif's bass tone to sound as it is but I certainly think if there is more clarity and if the tone is a bit sharper it will give the song further detail.
