[Eng follows] シンガポールで年2回開催されている人気イベント「Sake Matsuri」にて、今回も日本窓口として運営を担当しました。今回は初めてチャンギ空港直結のJEWELでの開催。滝を眺めながら日本酒を楽しむという、シンガポールならではのロケーションで、多くの方にお越しいただきました。

日本各地から集まった日本酒のほか、缶の日本酒や泡盛、おつまみ、酒器なども販売。各ブースには次々と人が訪れ、試飲とともにお気に入りの商品を探す姿が印象的でした。

毎回思うのは、本当に多様な層のお客様がいらっしゃること。若い方から年配の方まで、国籍や背景もさまざまな人たちが一堂に集い、SAKEを楽しむ様子を見ると、あらためてこの文化の奥深さと可能性を感じます。
これからもシンガポールでSAKE文化を広めていきたいと思います！

We had the pleasure of supporting Sake Matsuri – Singapore’s Largest Sake Festival – as their event partner once again.

For the first time ever, the event was held at Jewel Changi Airport, allowing guests to enjoy sake with the breathtaking view of the indoor waterfall – a truly Singaporean setting.

Alongside sake from all over Japan, the festival also featured canned sake, awamori, otsumami (Japanese bar snacks), and traditional sake cups. Visitors hopped from booth to booth tasting and discovering their favourites, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere.

What always strikes us is the sheer diversity of attendees – from young adults to older sake enthusiasts, people of all walks of life came together to enjoy sake in their own way.
We’re proud to continue supporting the spread of sake culture here in Singapore!

[Eng follows] 日本では季節限定として販売される商品でも、シンガポールでは年間を通じて需要があるケースがあります。その代表例が「Shio Pan（塩パン）」です。

塩パンは、愛媛県八幡浜市の「パン・メゾン」が発祥で、「汗をかく夏に塩分のあるパンを」という発想から生まれた、もともとは夏向けの商品です。

しかし、年間を通じて高温多湿な気候が続くシンガポールでは、この塩味のパンが年中受け入れられています。

実際、Barcook Bakery では Shio Pan / Kaya Shio Pan / Cheese Shio Pan の3種類が SGD2.3〜2.5 で販売されており、Butter Town や Kohpan Japanese Bakery などの専門店では3個で SGD8.4〜19.9 と、幅広い価格帯で展開されています。

また、自炊をあまりしない家庭が多いシンガポールでは、パンが朝食の定番として定着しており、塩パンのようなシンプルで満足感のある商品が受け入れられやすい背景もあります。

このような「日本では夏限定」が、「シンガポールでは通年販売」に転じる例は、ゆずなどの柑橘系フレーバーでも見られます。日本では季節によって売れ行きが左右されがちな商品も、常に暑いシンガポールでは安定した需要が期待でき、定番化すれば通年販売が可能です。

つまり、シンガポール市場では日本商品の“季節性”という制約が小さく、新しい切り口での展開チャンスが広がっています。

Products that are seasonal in Japan can sometimes be sold year-round in Singapore. A good example is Shio Pan (salt bread).

This Shio Pan was first born in a bakery called “Pain Maison” in Yawatahama city in Ehime Prefecture in Japan as a product for summer. Since people sweat a lot, they crave something salty in summer. Hence, it is a perfect bread for Singapore’s year round heat!

At Barcook Bakery, three types, Shio Pan / Kaya Shio Pan / Cheese Shio Pan are sold for SGD 2.3-2.5, and specialty bakeries like Butter Town and Kohpan Japanese Bakery sell sets of three for SGD 8.4-19.9. Many locals don’t cook at home, and since bread is a common breakfast, it made Shio Pan easy to be accepted. This trend also applies to citrus flavours like yuzu. Although they may be marketed as summer-only in Japan, many restaurants in Singapore offer them year-round.

Although products that are seasonal in Japan can have steady demand in Singapore. Once they become a regular item, they can be sold year-round, showing that Japanese seasonal products have strong potential in the Singapore market.

ここ数年、シンガポールでは古着やセカンドハンドファッションがZ世代を中心に人気を集めています。

2025年には、日本の中古衣料大手「セカンドストリート」がオーチャードに出店し話題になりました。ただし、価格帯は多くの商品が25シンガポールドル以上からと、若者にとっては少し高めな印象も。

その一方で、今注目されているのは、Z世代自身が立ち上げ・運営するファッションマーケット。「誰ともかぶらない服が着たい」「誰から買うかにもこだわりたい」、そんな想いが、カルチャーの中心にあります。

代表的な例がこちら：
Konbini – ロリータやストリートスタイルが集う、原宿のような雰囲気のマーケット。個性が輝く空間です。

Ressurack Market – 「シンガポールの下北沢」とも呼ばれるHaji Laneで開催。セレクト古着やハンドメイドアクセが並び、感度の高い若者たちで賑わっています。

いまの若者が求めているのは、「ストーリーのある服」。
マーケットでの買い物は、“どこで買ったか” “誰から買ったか” が体験の一部として記憶に残ります。

オフラインで、パーソナルで、コミュニティに根ざしたスタイル。
これが、シンガポールのZ世代が築く新しい古着文化です。

【Singapore Trend Watch｜How Gen Z is Shaping Singapore’s Thrifting Culture】

In recent years, thrifting and second-hand fashion have been gaining traction among Gen Z in Singapore.
In 2025, Japanese second-hand retail giant Second Street opened its Orchard store to much buzz — but with many items starting at around $25 or more, the pricing feels a bit steep for younger shoppers.

Instead, what’s popular now are fashion markets created and run by Gen Z themselves, driven by sentiments like “I want to wear something truly unique” and “I care about who I’m buying from, not just what.”

Examples include:

Konbini – A Harajuku-inspired market filled with Lo**ta and street-style looks, where individuality takes center stage.

Ressurack Market – Held in Singapore’s own “Shimokitazawa,” Haji Lane. A treasure trove of curated vintage pieces and handmade jewelry, it doubles as a creative hotspot for stylish youth.

Rather than fast fashion, today’s shoppers are after clothes with stories — items that reflect their identity. These markets offer more than just products; they create shared experiences around thrifting, with “Where did you get this?" and "Who made this?" becoming part of the story.

Offline, personal, and rooted in community — this is how Singapore’s Gen Z is reshaping second-hand fashion today.

[Eng follows] 昨日シンガポールは「Deepavali（ディーパバリ）」の祝日でした。ヒンドゥー教徒にとっての新年にあたるこの日は、“光のフェスティバル”としても知られ、暗闇に光が勝つことを祝います。リトルインディアの街はカラフルなイルミネーションで彩られ、家族や友人と過ごす人々の笑顔にあふれていました。多民族国家・シンガポールならではの文化的な祝日。こうした行事を通して、異なる価値観や背景への理解が深まっていくのを感じます。

Yesterday was a public holiday in Singapore for Deepavali, the Hindu festival of lights.
Celebrated as the Hindu New Year, it symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness. Little India was beautifully lit up with colorful decorations, and the streets were filled with people enjoying time with their family and friends. In a multicultural society like Singapore, festivals like this are a wonderful reminder of the richness of diverse traditions — and the importance of understanding different cultures.

[Eng follows] 【実績紹介｜北欧発オーラルケアブランド「TePe」日本市場向け動画を制作】

世界90カ国以上で展開する、歯科医監修のオーラルケアブランド「TePe（テペ）」の日本市場参入を、動画制作を通じてサポートさせていただきました。

今回のプロジェクトは、「撮影なし・時間なし・認知なし」――三重苦のなかで挑んだ動画制作。

大手雑貨店での店頭販売に合わせ、既存素材のみで2分以内の紹介動画を制作。
日本市場での信頼の入口を探るため、クライアントとのディスカッションを重ね、「予防歯科先進国スウェーデン発」「歯科医との共同開発」「カラフルで家族で使える」など、8つの訴求軸を設定しました。

また、既存レビューやSNS投稿を分析し、「歯科医にすすめられた」「毛が柔らかい」「色がかわいく家族で色分けできる」など、生活者の声も反映。

制約があるなかでも、光のエフェクトや効果音などを工夫し、“かわいいけれど信頼できる”世界観を表現する映像に仕上げました。

クライアントからは、「英語と日本語の文化差を埋めてくれる存在だった」「限られた条件の中で、ここまで整理されたアウトプットに驚いた」といった嬉しいお声をいただいています。

【Case Study｜Video Production for Swedish Oral Care Brand “TePe” Entering the Japanese Market】

We supported the Japan market entry of TePe, a dentist-developed oral care brand available in over 90 countries worldwide, through the production of a promotional video.

This project faced a triple challenge: no new footage, limited time, and zero brand recognition in Japan.

To coincide with TePe’s first BtoC rollout at a major Japanese lifestyle store, we created a 2-minute in-store video using only existing assets.
To build initial trust with Japanese consumers, we worked closely with the client to identify 8 key messaging points—such as “From Sweden, the leader in preventive dentistry,” “Co-developed with dentists,” and “Colorful and family-friendly.”

We also analyzed past reviews and social media posts, reflecting real consumer feedback like:
“Recommended by my dentist,” “Gentle on gums,” and “Cute colors, great for family use.”

Despite the limitations, we crafted a video that conveyed a “cute yet credible” brand world by adding light effects, sound design, and clear visuals.

The client shared positive feedback, such as:
“You bridged the cultural gap between English and Japanese,”
and “We didn’t expect such a well-structured output under so many constraints.”

[Eng follows] 【日本の大学生向けにキャリアトークを実施しました！】

先日、シンガポールの語学学校 inlingua School of Languages にて、日本の大学生12名を対象に、弊社の関がキャリアトークを行いました。

「自分たちも努力次第で海外で働けるかもしれない」

そんな実感を持ってもらうことを目的に、
・なぜシンガポールに来たのか
・どんな会社で、どんな商材を、どんな相手に届けているのか
・シンガポールと日本の商習慣や人柄の違い
・“マーケティング”って結局何？

といったテーマをもとに、学生時代の話も交えながらお話ししました。
国や文化の違いを越えて働くということ。
日本と海外、両方の視点を持ちながら働くということ。
少しでも何かヒントを持ち帰ってもらえていたら嬉しいです。

[Career Talk for Japanese University Students!]

Last week, our team member Yoshi gave a career talk to 12 Japanese university students at inlingua School of Languages in Singapore.

The goal was to help the students feel that:
“With enough effort, working overseas could be a real possibility.”

Based on this theme, he spoke about:
• Why he came to Singapore
• What kind of company he works for, what kind of products he promotes, and to whom
• The differences in business practices and people between Singapore and Japan
• What “marketing” really means

He also shared stories from his student life and career journey to make the session more relatable.

It was a chance to reflect on what it means to work across cultures and borders—
and how valuable it is to have both Japanese and international perspectives.

We hope each student was able to take away something useful for their future.

今シンガポールでは、TikTokライブコマースが「SNS映え」で終わらない、本気の販売チャネルとして注目されています。

In Singapore, TikTok live commerce is gaining traction as a serious sales channel that goes far beyond just looking good on social media.

Especially for beauty and aesthetic products that shine in live demos, sales can skyrocket during the stream.
In fact, some businesses have reported over SGD 15,000 (JPY 1.5 million) in sales from just one 3-hour TikTok live session.

One beauty KOL, for example, introduced a lip product by saying,
“This one has a nice cooling, minty feel!”—and followed up with a casual but powerful line: “Only 5 left!”
The sense of urgency spurred instant purchases, selling out the item on the spot—complete with a celebratory bell sound during the live!

In Singapore, interactions that feel personal—like calling out viewer names or replying to comments in real time—play a key role.
This “friend-like” engagement is often the final push that drives a purchase.

日本のプリクラといえば、美肌補正やデコレーションなど“盛れる”体験が定番で、料金は1回400〜500円程度が一般的。
一方、あえて加工せず、自然な姿を写すスタイルのフォトブースが、若者を中心に人気を集めています。たとえば、韓国発のセルフフォトブース「Life4cut」はそのうちの一つで、ナチュラルな雰囲気の写真が好まれる傾向ともマッチし、人気が広がっています。

とはいえ、内装や小道具には東アジアらしい「かわいさ」もたっぷり。
可愛らしい店内の雰囲気や、ユニークな衣装を自由に楽しめることも人気の理由のひとつで、撮る過程そのものも体験として楽しめます。

価格はS$10前後（約1,100円）とやや高めですが、ショッピングモールや、観光客・ローカル双方に人気のHaji Laneなど、街の主要スポットにも多く設置されていることから、日常から特別な日まで幅広いシーンで利用されています。

日本のプリクラとは少しスタイルが異なりますが、「誰かと一緒に写真を撮る」「その時間を楽しむ」という本質は共通。

In Japan, “purikura” (photo booths) are known for their beauty filters and decorative features—a fun way to “glow up” your appearance, typically costing around ¥400–500 per session.

In contrast, a different kind of photo booth is gaining traction among Singapore’s youth: one that deliberately avoids heavy editing to capture a more natural look. A popular example is Life4cut, a Korean self-photo booth brand that aligns with the growing preference for candid, unfiltered photos—helping to drive its popularity.

That said, there’s still plenty of East Asian-style “cuteness” in the experience. From the cozy, charming interior design to the playful costumes you can try on, part of the fun lies in the entire photo-taking process.

Priced at around S$10 (approx. ¥1,100), these booths are slightly more expensive—but they’re widely available at major locations like shopping malls and popular hangout spots such as Haji Lane, making them accessible for both everyday moments and special occasions.

While the style differs from Japanese purikura, the core idea remains the same: capturing memories with others and enjoying the moment. Self-photo booths are gradually finding their place in Singapore’s youth culture—it may be a trend to watch.
