In Singapore, October 31 is for Deepavali (festival of lights) and Halloween parties. If you celebrate them, Happy Halloween and Happy Deepavali. It is a also a public holiday in Singapore. :D The causeway is heavy traffic for Singaporean going to Malaysia by cars. It is great to be in multi-racial and multi-cultural country like Singapore to enjoy many festivals, different food and taking breaks..

October is the world breast cancer awareness month. This is a time for my personal review and reflection. During my master study of Art Therapy 2007-2009, I did my master thesis: Art Therapy as a modality of healing in stages for women with breast cancer. I am so grateful for so many wonderful people supporting my research, especially Dr. Tan YY from KKH and approval from Institution review board. After practicing art therapy for about 15 years, my interest in this area is getting stronger because of evidence in healing, brain health and mental well-being. We will need more clinical research to collect medical evidence for healing through art therapy.

Singapore is celebrating 59th independence day on 9 August. I am proud to be a Singaporean and very grateful to be one as well. Although I grew up in suburban rural area (aka kampung) and low income family, I can now pursue my dream and helping others using art therapy is amazing. A million thanks to Singapore.

We will be offering special price of S$5.90 for 5 drawing books for this Aug month. Hopefully more children will pick up drawing skills physically and express themselves. This is a hobby that benefits them for a life time.

Art JAM as therapy is for adults as a small group to come together and enjoy art making. No art background is required. It is good for mental health and as a form rejuvenation. By art therapist and small group size of 8 participants per group. Fee is 2 hours S$80/= nett per person inclusive of art materials. Sat 3pm to 5pm. Please book in advance. Thank you.

We are clearing our drawing books for children at S$2/= nett per book. Normal price is S$4.90. There are 5 series in total for children age 4 to 6, and 7 to 12. These books were published in 1996 and 1997 as part of my vision to promote drawing for the young. Art is a great way for expressing our feelings and emotions. Reflecting back after 28 years, I am grateful and thankful for many support so far. Condition of the books are not as new as before and it is one of the reasons we are offering at over 50% discount to clear the stocks. We are also donating them to school and communities as well. Expression through paper folding art.. it is a new year 2024, my wishes for this new year for world peace and earth care. using paper crane symbol for peace and recycled paper as earth care.

I am setting a personal commitment to fold 2,000 paper cranes using recycled paper by Aug 24, 2024.. It is because legend for a wish to be granted for a thousand paper cranes and 2024 (20=8, 24=days).

Any like minded individuals who has passion to do paper folding can join me as well!
