Our first Valentine's Day at OUE Downtown was a very pleasant surprise. 🥰We were touched that both our repeat customers from Everton and many of our new friends pre-ordered their bouquets. Considering that we have been inactive on social media and no advertising was made, the amount of orders we had was amazing! I

Ps: did not even have time to take any photos. All these were taken by my friends.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kind support and trust in us.

Shout out to my flower friends who came down and helped till late those few days. Beyond grateful to you gals.

Help! I love succulents but they always die on me!🥲(Hands up if you feel the same.)

Succulents actually need sunlight or grow light and very little water to grow healthily. Unfortunately, that is not always possible at our workspace/home.

Got these gorgeous glass beauties for people like me. They definitely bring a smile to my face and brightens up the space. Most importantly, they are absolutely fuss free.

Available in my studio, in very limited quantities. Come and grab one for yourself while stocks last!

Btw, I am still not giving up on real succulents but these will have to do for now.😁

It's has been almost two weeks since we moved into our new space at OUE Downtown, Shenton Way. We have updated our layout and started offering more products eg handmade soap, scented non-toxic candles and balloons. Of course, our first love is still personalizing your flowers.🥰

Yes! The bouquet is cat-approved. (This customer is so adorable to let me know that his girlfriend and cat loves the bouquet I customized for them🤣.) LOL.

Recently, I have more customers requesting for cat-friendly bouquets. So glad that paw-parents are more informed about providing a safe environment for their little ones. Many flowers and foliage are actually toxic to cats and it certainly doesn't help that they are filled with curiosity and can jump up onto tables and shelves.

Lily, chrysanthemum, tulips and hypericum berries are some of the common toxic flowers.

Let's spread awareness to other paw-parents about this potential life-threatening oversight. The best preventive measure is to teach your cat not to nibble on flowers and plants.

My customers and I are like friends. 🥰We will have a little chat about flowers (of course!) and also about what's happening in our lives.

I was feeling quite down and lost 🥲that day when Violet came. She usually comes every week to pick up some loose blooms for her home. She said she liked to come and have a chat among flowers as she found it very therapeutic. It would always help her take some stress and anxiety away. I felt very touched, thinking to myself that, "Hey! That's the reason why I opened a flower studio in the first place. To share the love of flowers and to bring joy to others."

"Are you scared of the dark?" I remember this black beer advertisement many years ago as it left a deep impression.

These dark coloured flowers do not fall within the typical, crowd-favourite pastels category but I still brought them in anyway. I know they may not sell well and make no business sense. Should I bring in only what people usually like or be true to myself? I decided to follow my heart and went for these lovelies.

In business, the concept of "free" is often deceptive. While it may seem like there are freebies or giveaways, ultimately, everything comes with a cost. Afterall, the products, packaging, manpower, utilities and petrol etc cost money.

At YVS Flower Studio, we aim to be as transparent as possible. We think it is important to inform you of:
- freshness of flowers (Of course it is not possible that every bloom arrived yesterday😝.)
- cost of arranging and wrapping flowers (It costs $$$ for us to arrange them for you vs you bring them home and DIY)
- delivery fees (No, we do NOT claim to absorb delivery charges. It often just results in increasing the selling price.)

So please, refrain from asking us for free boxes, free cards, free delivery etc. (You get the idea.😁) Let's keep these add-ons for only those who need them and do not mind paying.

I find it rather challenging to answer my customers when they ask how long flowers can last and why I do not sell certain flowers. Here are some reasons why flowers do not last in Singapore.

Almost all fresh flowers are imported into Singapore. They may have already endured a significant portion of their shelf life during transportation. The time spent in transit, often coupled with exposure to varying temperatures and handling, can reduce the overall freshness and longevity of the flowers upon arrival.

We experience consistently warm temperatures throughout the year, which can expedite the process of flower dehydration and deterioration. Heat accelerates the rate at which flowers lose moisture, leading to wilting and drooping sooner than in cooler climates.

While air conditioning is common indoors to combat the heat, it can also have a drying effect on fresh flowers. Exposure to air conditioning can cause flowers to lose moisture rapidly, leading to dehydration and premature wilting if not properly hydrated and cared for.

Try getting some of the hardy flowers for a longer enjoyment period of about a week.
