Start date confirmed for The Ocean Race 2022-23
Two race fleets will assemble in Alicante before a mid-January 2023 start for leg one of the around-the-world race. Both IMOCA and VO65 fleets will begin the race on Sunday, 15 January 2023 from Alicante on Spain’s Mediterranean coast.

The Ocean Race has confirmed both the IMOCA and VO65 fleets will begin the 2022-23 edition of the race on Sunday, 15 January 2023.

During the Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow, the United Nations Sports for Climate Action initiative, which The Ocean Race is part of, announced that it has joined the Race to Zero. Organisations in the Race to Zero must aim to halve their greenhouse gas (GHGs) emissions by 2030 and reach net zero emissions by 2040. This means removing an equivalent amount of GHGs from the atmosphere, to balance those that have been created by the organisation.

The Ocean Race is joining hundreds of leading sports organisations across the world in making bold commitments to drastically reduce its impact on the environment.

REVISION TO THE NUMBER OF PERSONS ONBOARD PLEASURE CRAFT IN THE PORT OF SINGAPORE

This Port Marine Circular (PMC) supersedes PMC 42 of 2021 with effect from 22 Nov 2021.
Gatherings of more than 5 persons* onboard any pleasure craft are prohibited with the following exemptions:
a) SZH-licensed pleasure craft activities; and
b) Marriage solemnisation onboard SZ-licensed pleasure craft.
* This limit of 5 persons does not include the master/crew employed (i.e. being paid a salary) to operate the craft and should at no time exceed the craft licensed carrying capacity.

Great Britain SailGP Team capsizes during the Cadiz Sail GP final race as Australia SailGP Team and USA SailGP Team moves around them. The Australians were then able to break away and lead the final race to the finish. A dramatic afternoon in Cadiz ended with Australia winning the Spain Sail Grand Prix to return to the top of the SailGP Season Championship ahead of their home event in Sydney.

Australia is opening its doors to fully vaccinated Singaporean travellers in November .

The quarantine-free travel arrangements will commence on November 21 for Australian states and territories that are ready, and will be available for fully vaccinated Singaporeans travelling from Singapore who present a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of departure.

It would be great to finally host boat shows in our region as the rest of the world has had successful events. We are happy to see the annual Superyacht Australia Soirée's set date for 2022. We are optimistic that we will be able to announce our dates for 2022 too.

The 6th edition of the Thailand Yacht Show, postponed for the past 18 months along with most other large scale international events, is gearing up for next year’s re-awakening with the backing of all the major international yachting brands and Thai government stakeholders.

We are happy to see that all the major brands and regional dealers have already booked their berths at TYS 2022, whenever it can eventually take place, fully endorsing the Show. We are looking forward to having this support for our shows to come!

Event will become centrepiece of new Festival of Luxury Tourism, organisers say, although dates are still to be confirmed.

Amazing to see The Lady Christine reach the waters of Australia. Lord Irvine Laidlaw - famed competitive racer, owner of the 68-metre custom Feadship Lady Christine, and winner of the 2015 World Superyacht Awards Legacy Award - is undoubtedly one of the most experienced yachties in the world.

She also recently spent two weeks cruising Nusa West Tengarra and Komodo of Indonesia. We hope to see more Superyachts come to this side of the world.

𝟳 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗮 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱
It's a great start and good news for our region for the month of October 2021 as the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has officially updated that their quarantine time for fully vaccinated international travelers arriving in Thailand, including pilot reopening destinations through the Alternative Quarantine (AQ) system, will be reduced from 14 to 7 days.
The Thai Cabinet has also approved a one-year extension of the ‘special tourist visa’ (STV) scheme for long-staying visitors until 30 September, 2022. The program has been in effect from 30 September, last year.
The Cabinet’s approval of the STV scheme as proposed by their Ministry of Tourism and Sports entailed special permission for long-stay visitors to Thailand of all types – from tourists to business travelers, investors and others – and tourists and crews of foreign cruises and yachts.

Fourteen years ago, the sound of the greatest car engine noises of all time hit the streets of Singapore as its inaugural Formula One motor race was held at the Marina Bay street circuit. It was the first and only race to be held at night in F1's history, and the first F1 street race in Asia.

It is one of the many premier events in Singapore affected by the global pandemic like our shows. Year 2022 will bring new light . We are looking forward to creating more memorable experiences and connections. We also hope for the best for other industries to stay strong and to move forward.

Great to see the boating industry going strong in Asia Pacific this year as not one, but two new Princess F62 are bound for our region thanks to Boat Lagoon Yachting . Both yachts were loaded in Southampton earlier this week.
One of the Princess F62’s has been sold to an experienced boater in here making this the fourth F62 in Singapore. The other will cruise on her own bottom to Phuket, Thailand.

The countdown begins for the 2021 Monaco Yacht Show, the world's leading superyacht show taking place from September 22- 25, 2021 with visitors descending on Port Hercules to see the most exciting yachts launched.

More than 300 exhibitors and 60 superyachts are set to participate in this year's show. European builders such as Benetti, Feadship, Lürssen, Oceanco and Sanlorenzo have all confirmed their attendance, among many other international shipyards, as well as a strong brokerage presence from Burgess, Camper & Nicholsons, Edmiston, Fraser, Imperial Yachts, Moran Yacht & Ship, YPI and Merle Wood & Associates.
