Pork Pickle. โจ

Many decades ago, when wild-boar hunting was permitted in India, my father would "hunt" with his buddies.
_
He would, oftentimes, bring home a pickle with the meat of the hunted made by the host's cook.
Subsequently, my mother extracted the recipe from the afore-mentioned cook and tried the same with pork!
It was finger-lickingly scrumptious!๐ฅฐ

A couple of weeks ago, I unearthed this recipe from one of my earlier painstakingly handwritten cookbooks(with my mother's recipes) and decided to make it a part of my pickle collection on Jo's Kitchen.

A Pulikuthi Upperi is a Kerala Iyer recipe from the Palakkad region. Made with pumpkin, raw bananas and 'papdi', this is both spicy and tangy, with a dash of tamarind.

Vegetable Ishtew with Idyappams is very popular with the Syrian Christians of Kerala. We used carrots, green beans and red capsicums.
It is a gentle accompaniment to the other spicy dishes served alongside
