🥊 ‘The fight is won or lost far away from witnesses - behind the lines, in the gym, and out there on the road, long before I dance under those lights.’ ‘The Greatest’ Muhammad Ali…. He knew the importance of getting in that all important early morning roadwork…not only as a physical supplement to his fighting armoury but it also aided the mental strength of rising early and going out when you could so easily go back to sleep…it’s similar to a fighter choosing to stay down when he’s able to rise from the floor….habits breed habits wether good or bad they have a knock on effect and will show when called upon or questioned wether that be in the ring as a fighter or a man in life. One of Ali’s many great strengths was his self confidence and belief…I don’t think there has ever been a fighter who believed ‘nothing is impossible’ more so than …….. that stemmed from an unquestionable strength forged from hours upon hours that nobody saw,the hours upon hours of early morning runs while the world in which he would change in front of him peacefully slept away those early mornings, many times cold, wet or dark. Ali knew hard work…it gave him a strength like no other….. it allowed him to dance under those lights….he also knew nobody ever got it by just wishing for it. 🥊
