The ASEAN Artist Residency Programme initiated by the ASEAN Secretariat, offers a unique opportunity for Lao PDR’s artists to showcase their creativity while celebrating ASEAN identity and artistic heritage in Osaka, Japan.

The selected artist will spend one month enhancing their practice at the ASEAN Pavilion, in conjunction with ASEAN’s participation in World Expo 2025. The artist will create a piece of artwork that represents ASEAN identity, which will be presented to the ASEAN Secretariat/Headquarters.

Applications are open until 𝟑𝟏 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, and participation is free of charge.

Dare to Draw: Let the Picture Tell Your Stories

21 Dec 2024: C asean, Bangkok Sketchers, Urban Sketchers Thailand, and STAEDTLER are honored to welcome Prof. Felix Scheinberger, a leading illustrator in urban sketching and a world-renowned author, to the “SketchTalk: How to Create a Unique Sketchbook.”

Prof. Scheinberger shared his inspiration for sketching, art, and life. “Sketching is a form of communication that tells a story through creativity. Dare to draw. Always leave room for mistakes—they lead to improvement. What is beautiful today may not be beautiful tomorrow. Art always offers opportunities to close gaps. Allow yourself to fail."

C asean is proud to be part of this inspirational session. We believe in the power of art to connect people, foster understanding, and promote unity for a more peaceful community. As we move forward, SketchTalk will continue as an ongoing project, providing a platform for creativity and collaboration. We hope to inspire more individuals to express themselves through art, celebrate diversity, and build lasting bonds across cultures.

On November 28, 2024, C asean Lanna was officially launched at Chiang Mai University Business School. This center is the fruition of a collaboration among Chiang Mai University, Sirivadhanabhakdi Foundation, Thai Beverage Public Company Limited, C asean and Chiang Mai University Business School, designed to strengthen connections across ASEAN in three key areas: Art & Culture, Leadership & Talent Development, and Business and Sustainability.

Key Highlights:

⭐️ MOU Signing Ceremony: The collaboration focuses on knowledge building, entrepreneurship, and sustainability, with C asean Lanna as a hub for education, innovation, and community engagement across ASEAN.

⭐️ Two Showcase Zones:
1. Lanna Craft Zone: Celebrating the unique art and cultural identity of Lanna.
2. Social Enterprise Economy Zone: Highlighting sustainable business models and innovations.

Sketchers Unite Under One Sky: SketchTalk Workshop Captures Cloud Magic

On October 26, 2024, Urban Sketchers Thailand and Bangkok Sketchers gathered art enthusiasts for a day of cloud-inspired creativity at the 'SketchTalk: Urban Cloud Sketching' workshop, supported by Thai Beverage Public Company Limited and C asean.

The day began with Mr. Chol Vichaidit, an astro sketcher, who has spent over a decade journaling his sky observations. He led the "All About Clouds" session, providing participants with the opportunity to learn more about the sky through the diverse forms and heights of clouds. Then, followed by a workshop with Mr. Tamra Chatikanon, a watercolor artist known for his popular page, Watercolor by Tamra. He shared invaluable tips, empowering participants to create their own unique cloud masterpieces.

The workshop concluded with a collaborative painting session inspired by the breathtaking views from the window of C asean on Ratchadapisek Road. Additionally, participants had the chance to learn from talented young artists, Mr. Naphat Eakjariyakorn and Mr. Amornpong Saisen, who captivated everyone with their demonstrations.

This gathering strengthened the role of ThaiBev and C asean in supporting and promoting the exchange of artistic knowledge. Looking ahead, C asean will continue SketchTalk as an ongoing project. Stay tuned for upcoming SketchTalk sessions as we continue to bridge cultural connections and promote mutual understanding. 🎨🖌️

Join the ASEAN Circular Economy Forum 2024 (ACEF) under the theme “Guiding the Transition - ASEAN and EU Approaches to Circular Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Connect with the most prominent organizations and thought leaders from ASEAN and international partners.
