Thailand’s cabinet has decided to reduce the long-term resident (LTR) visa fee to 50,000 baht, allowing non-Thais to stay in Thailand for up to 10 years. This will include the applicant and up to four family members.
The aim is to persuade foreigners with high economic status or who have knowledge and expertise to stay or work in Thailand longer, in order to boost the country’s economy and investment prospects.
Individuals who may apply for the visa include the following:
1. High-net-worth global citizens;
2. Foreign retirees;
3. Those aspiring to work in Thailand;
4. Those with special skills.
The adjustments will come into effect 90 days after they are officially announced in the Royal Gazette.

1. Test & Go

- ยังคงต้องขอ Thailand Pass ที่ https://tp.consular.go.th/

- จะต้องเป็นประเทศตามรายชื่อ 63 ประเทศเท่านั้น(เยอรมันยังคงอยู่ครับ)​

- ผู้ที่จะบินต้องมีผลตรวจ RT-PCR ภายใน 72 ชั่วโมงก่อนบิน

- ชาวต่าวชาติยังคงต้องซื้อประกันวงเงินขั้นต่ำ 50,000 ดอลลาร์​สหรัฐดังเดิม

- ต้องมีใบจองโรงแรม SHA+ หรือ AQ ที่จัด Package รับ, ตรวจ, และเพื่อกักตัวจนกว่าผลตรวจที่ไทยจะออก

- สำหรับผู้เดินทางที่อายุครบ 18 จะต้องฉีดวัคซีนครบโดส และต้องเว้นระยะ 14 วัน

***สำหรับเด็ก***

- ต่ำกว่า 6 ขวบไม่ต้องตรวจ RT-PCR แต่ต้องมากับผู้ปกครองที่ผลตรวจเป็นลบ และเมื่อมาถึงไทยก็จะตรวจทางน้ำลายแทน

- อายุ 6 -​11 ต้องมีผลตรวจ RT-PCR เช่นเดียวกับผู้ปกครอง

- อายุ 12 -​17 หากฉีดวัคซีนแล้วอย่างน้อย 1 เข็มสามารถเดินทางคนเดียวโดยไม่ต้องมีผู้ปกครองได้ แต่ถ้ายังไม่ฉีดจะต้องเดินทางกับผู้ปกครองเท่านั้น ทั้งนี้จะต้องมีผลตรวจ RT-PCR ที่เป็นลบด้วย

2. สำหรับกรณี Sandbox เป็นต้องจองโรงแรม SHA+ และ AQ พัก 7 วันนะครับ

📍🚗ขึ้นเขา-ลงเขา ใช้เกียร์ต่ำ
- เกียร์ธรรมดา: ใช้เกียร์ 1 หรือเกียร์ 2 หากรู้สึกว่าความเร็วของรถเริ่มตกขณะที่ขับขึ้นทางชัน ให้ลดเกียร์ลงมา 1 ระดับ เพื่อสามารถเร่งเครื่องยนต์และผ่านทางชันนั้นไปได้ จึงเปลี่ยนเข้าเกียร์ตามความเร็วปกติ

- เกียร์ออโต้: ใช้เกียร์ D1, D2 หรือ L ขณะขึ้นเขา-ลงเขา เมื่อพ้นทางชันควรสลับมาที่เกียร์ D ไม่ควรลากเกียร์ต่ำเป็นระยะเวลานาน เพราะอาจทำให้เครื่องยนต์ทำงานหนักจนเครื่องดับกลางทางได้
ขึ้นเขา ⛰🚗แตะคันเร่งเบาๆ เร่งเครื่องให้สม่ำเสมอ เพื่อส่งกำลังให้รถขึ้นไปได้ ให้สังเกตรอบเครื่องยนต์อยู่ที่ประมาณ 2,000-3,500 รอบ ที่สำคัญอย่าลืม ⚠️เว้นระยะห่างจากรถคันหน้าประมาณ 30-50 เมตร เพื่อความปลอดภัย
ลงเขา แตะเบรกเป็นระยะ ⛔️อย่าเหยียบเบรกค้างไว้ เพราะจะทำให้ผ้าเบรกไหม้ และควรรักษาระดับความเร็วระหว่างลงเขาให้อยู่ที่ 40-50 กิโลเมตร/ชั่วโมง
🚫ห้ามใส่เกียร์ว่าง (เกียร์ N) เป็นอันขาด!! รถจะไหลลงเขาด้วยความเร็วสูง เพราะไม่มีแรงฉุดจากเครื่องยนต์ช่วยควบคุมความเร็วรถ เสี่ยงเกิดอุบัติเหตุสูง
👀มองให้ไกล ประเมินเส้นทาง ⚠️อย่าแซงทางโค้ง สังเกตป้ายจราจรริมทาง และใช้ความเร็วรถให้เหมาะสมกับเส้นทาง
🎺🚗ให้สัญญาณเมื่อเข้าสู่ทางโค้ง ทางเลี้ยว หรือจุดอับสายตา พยายามบีบแตรหรือใช้สัญญาณไฟอยู่เสมอ เพื่อเป็นการเตือนรถคันอื่นที่อาจสวนทางมา

[01] A little bit of drama at the Thai Airways check-in at Heathrow but all sorted now. They didn’t understand or even know how to scan the QR Code on my Thailand Pass. Then they insisted I needed to print out all the documents like you have to do for COE, including the QR Code.

The idea of Thailand Pass is that you don’t need to print everything as it is contained in the QR Code. In Bangkok, you just show 3 things: the QR Code, your printed test results, and passport. Luckily I did have a print-out for hotel booking, test results & vaccine certificate. But not for my insurance.

My insurance was initially a problem. She wanted to see a policy where it says Covid coverage. I only had my social security digital card. I pointed out that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wouldn’t give me Thailand Pass if it wasn’t acceptable. Finally she found someone with a QR Code reader on their phone.

COMMENT: Obviously this is still the transition period and I am one of the first to fly with a Thailand Pass. I am probably also the first to use social security as my insurance as they had no idea what that was as there is no policy to print out. I am sure it will get better as more people fly. Well, I hope it will.

[2] I’m onboard THAI Airways flight from London to Bangkok. About 100 people on this flight today. No-one sitting next to me which is good as the new rule is, if someone on your immediate left or right tests positive, you must go to hospital for ten days. Even if you tested negative.

From 1 November, fully vaccinated Australian citizens and permanent residents will be able to travel overseas without needing an outwards travel exemption.

It will also be easier for fully vaccinated Australians, permanent residents and their immediate families to return to Australia, depending on the state or territory they are travelling to.

* มีใบรับรองแพทย์ที่ยืนยันไม่พบเชื้อโควิด
* มีใบจองที่พัก
* เมื่อเดินทางมาถึงท่าอากาศยาน โหลดแอปพลิเคชันที่กำหนด

Thailand’s government is urging the public to join the third phase of the “Rao Tiew Duay Kan” (We Travel Together) subsidy scheme and the “Tour Tiew Thai” co-payment scheme, which opened for registration yesterday.

Deputy government spokesperson Traisuree Traisoranakul said those who have already registered for the campaign, in the first and second phases, do not need to apply again. They can continue using their remaining subsidy.

Rao Tiew Duay Kan offers a 40% discount on hotel rooms and restaurants, capped at Bt3,000 per room night for a maximum 15 rooms or 15 nights. Participants also receive a Bt600 e-voucher when checking in at participating hotels, restaurants and tourist attractions, as well as a 40% flight refund, capped at Bt3,000 per person. The subsidy scheme is limited to 2 million travelers, who must reserve rooms at least 7 days in advance, and covers room bookings from October 15th to January 31st next year.

Meanwhile, the “Tour Tiew Thai” co-payment scheme covers up to 40% of tour packages for a maximum of 1 million people. The subsidy is capped at Bt5,000 per trip, with bookings from October 8th until January 31st next year.

Thailand’s Public Health Ministry is preparing to reopen the country to visitors from abroad on October 1st, starting with Bangkok, Chon Buri (Pattaya), Prachuap Khiri Khan (Hua Hin) and Chiang Mai.

The board of the national medical hub, comprised of health and tourism officials, approved guidelines for the reopening at a meeting on Wednesday. The reopening is in line with the prime minister’s 120-day deadline, announced in June.

Other tourism areas set to reopen under “bubble-and seal” measures in October are Loei (Chiang Khan) and Nong Khai provinces, Trat (Koh Kood, Koh Chang) and Rayong (Koh Samet).

The board also proposed measures to speed up the development of Thailand’s four home-grown COVID-19 vaccines. These are Chulalongkorn University’s ChulaCov19, the Baiya Phytopharm Co’s Baiya vaccine, the Government Pharmaceutical Organization’s HXP-GPO Vac and Biotech’s nasal-spray vaccine. The board will ask the Cabinet to boost the vaccine development budget and allow Thailand’s Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) to cut the registration period for Thai-made vaccines.

The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) expects that the prime minister's goal to reopen Thailand fully, within 120 days, will help boost business confidence, even if there is a risk of more COVID-19 infections.

FTI vice-chairman Kriengkrai Thiennukul said the full reopening of the country will help many businesses and boost the economy. The tourism sector and related businesses, such as restaurants, spas and factories, which supply products to these businesses, will recover.

He said whether the target is achievable depends largely on the state's mass inoculation program. If the government cannot effectively manage vaccine availability, there will not be good progress in economic recovery.

Meanwhile, operators of malls and hotels hailed the government's plan to reopen fully to foreign visitors in 120 days, as the government's clear timeline enables companies to develop a business plan. However, it is essential that the government commit to vaccinating 100% of the population, because this will improve consumer confidence and overall sentiment.

The Airports of Thailand (AoT) is introducing self check-in and luggage-loading services at Suvarnabhumi airport, reducing contact between passengers and staff to help mitigate the risk of COVID-19 spread.

AoT president Nitinai Sirismatthakarn said they will install 180 machines at the country's main gateway airport to make check-in and other activities self-service. The machines will be trialed this month, before being fully integrated in July.

He said the machines are linked to a database, which includes flight information from airlines as well as the Immigration Bureau, the Interior Ministry and various security agencies. The system will speed up pre-flight procedures and build traveler confidence in the AoT's public health security, ahead of the resumption of normal commercial flight operations.

Mr. Nitinai added that a new AoT Airports app has also been developed, in conjunction with the services, which will be progressively rolled to other airports under the AoT's supervision nationwide.

Thailand's tourism and sports minister has stood up in parliament to pledge that foreign tourists will not need to quarantine when visiting Thailand from October 1st.

It applies to ten tourism provinces that in the past provided the bulk of revenue from tourists.

The minister was addressing lawmakers as part of the budget debate.

He talked about the "Phuket Sandbox" a trial non-quarantine project for foreign visitors to the southern Thai island.

This will start on July 1st and come after 70% of people on the island are vaccinated by the end of this month, said the minister.

In October comes the opening of the country under similar arrangements in a total of ten provinces.
