Director Hiroshi Koike, who has been at the forefront of the world's performing arts for 35 years from the former company Papa Tarahumara to Hiroshi Koike Bridge Project, has been promoting the Pan-Asia Mahabharata Project since 2013. This is a project to cooperate with people in various parts of Asia to tell the importance of harmony by annual stage creation and tour every year in various parts o

f Asia. (We had already had creation and performance tour in Cambodia, Vietnam, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, China, Philippines and Japan.) This project will continue until 2020, the year of Tokyo Olympic, and in this year we will create the last part of the performance of Mahabharata story. When the gods come down to the earth, they are divided into two families. They come to hate each other and eventually have a big war. One of the family is completely destroyed, the members of the other family also die one by one, and eventually all the people of the clan dies. It is such a story of collapse. This epic is written throughout 800 years from the 4th century BC to the 4th century AD. And there are various anecdotes and stories that are also familiar to modern times, such as the description of nuclear war. For that reason, there are still many people around the world who worship Mahabharata as a scripture , ...especially "Bhagavat Gita" has been popular for people like Humboldt, Camus, Simoneveille etc. "We are in a critical era now ..." ... To overcome this crisis, we need to create the work that can show "a harmonious society" with “Mahabharata”, which has been popular with many people from the ancient times, connected Asia as the source of ideas. And through this project we can show the way to live in harmony and peace ... ... This is what the director, Hiroshi Koike thought. Both performers and staff are from all over Asia including Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, India, China, as well as Japan. Beyond languages, customs and barriers, we will work together to understand each other and make one production. In addition to the nationality, we will be beyond the genre of performing arts ...... There are very diverse dances in our performance, like Balinese dance, Java dance, Thai classical dance and Indian classical dance, ballet, Butoh, contemporary dance .... We also mix various music, such as Java music, rap, Thai traditional music, contemporary music etc. Theater dance and music will be integrated in one stage...... "Pan Asia Mahabharata project" has started in 2013. Creating a long "Mahabharata" story in distant places and traveling over 8 years in Asia, we are trying to expand our circle of sympathy. Until now we have made the three parts of Mahabharata, and we will have the final chapter, Part 4 this year. This is going to be the framework for the integrated version of the series next year. With a story of “Mahabharata", we would like to tell you about what the fight makes and what the world peace is. "Mahabharata Part4"
