When @abase_music (Oshu Records/Wayne Snow) and @turntablejazz (I Love Wax/Yasiin Bey) met in Berlin, their musical love child, 'STEMS SESSIONS', was born! 🚀✨
Using the new Serato Stem tech, turntables, keys & electronics, the duo rearrange and loop samples to create remixes of dubby, soulful, electronica & disco style grooves live/on stage.
After their live tribute sessions in February 2023 - 'Bob Marley Rebel Stems' & 'J Dilla Ruff Stems' - they moved on to create versions for Detroit MCs Guilty Simpson & Phat Kat, which with the help of Hip Hop legend Pete Rock, went viral. With the addition of Detroit MC Elzhi, the supergroup is set to tour Europe & record an LP.

Also joining us at Couscous Connexion Carnival next week is Cheb Mimo - an artist whose story and style lie close to our hearts. ❤️🔥
As most of you know, Couscous Connexion began as London-style (dancefloor focused) parties overlooking Tunis Old City, and became our way of sharing Tunisian culture with London.
Tunisia native Cheb Mimo has been setting dancefloors and audiophile sound systems in London on fire with his collection of rare cassettes and vinyl, whose sounds strongly reflect his North African heritage.
His mix on My Analog Journal (who kindly shared these beaut clips with us 🙏) has amassed 35k+ views and hundreds of comments by an audience to whom raï is relatively unknown.
Cheb Mimo's effort is placing raï - and North African culture more generally - on the global selector scene.
He's part of an eclectic line up of artists from around the world who are uniting for Couscous Connexion Carnival 2023 next week. 🥳

To the Arab world, Habibi Funk needs no introduction. We are super excited to host his first show in Tunisia in over two years, and his only show in Tunisia of 2022. He is flying in from Berlin especially, so his set is not to be missed!

We are honoured to be hosting the new album launch of Dendri Stambeli Movement, whose soulful, jazzy and enchanting sounds are saving the stambeli, an ancestral Tunisian tradition, from extinction.
