Choosing a wedding venue can be a daunting task 🤕 Is the venue too big, too small, too far, too old, too out of my budget? AHH! Send help!!! 🆘

As your Fairy Wedding Planner, here are my TOP tips when choosing the right wedding venue.🧚🏻‍♀️

1. How many guests are you hosting? Knowing this helps to narrow down your search. You won’t look at a large ballroom for 50 persons, but you might consider a smaller event space which is intimate and cozy for your smaller party.

2. What’s your budget? Ah, yes... the B word… As much as we love saying “I don’t know” when asked about budget, it’s going to be less painful if you do some research and see what options won’t break your bank!

3. What does the venue include? This ties back into your budget point. A venue may be completely bare and cost you 30K while another venue would be 35K but includes tables, chairs, security, venue coordinator, bathroom attendants etc. Venues that offer more than just a big empty space can work to your advantage since you would not have to outsource these additional items.

4. What’s the weather like? Are we in the dry season or rainy season? Is a rooftop wedding the best option in the height of rainy season? Maybeeee not… but hey... Trinis like a wet fete! Keeping weather in mind should have probablyyy been one of my top 3 points. Outdoor weddings are of course open to the elements, whether it’s sun, rain, or Sahara dust!!

5. Location. What does the commute look like for guests? Consider this- your family and friends are from South Trinidad but you’re getting married at a venue in Chaguaramas. Is there accommodation near the venue? Are you providing shuttles? Would guests drive that far, that late at night? Yes... I get it, It’s your day... but we do have to be considerate to our guests as well.

6. What’s your vibe? Are we boho-chic? Do we want the grandeur of a ballroom with high ceilings and chandeliers? Get on Pinterest and start a mood board!
