20 years of deep friendship! The love💞 story of Joseph Beyanga and his wife Carol

It was on May 31st 2004, that we first talked. Me and this beautiful girl met at work. That day we talked work in the morning and in the evening we hung out and listened, enjoyed and talked music for more than one hour.

We started out as workmates, became professional friends, then good friends. I don’t even know when we started dating but we grew so fond of each other and our conversations were endless. We exchanged tons of SMS messages all day long and hung out at almost all the eating joints across the city.

I introduced her to my favorite kikumi kikumi in Wandegeya, we went to Tipsy takeaway, we ate at Dominoes Pizza and chilled out at Cafe Pap on Parliament Avenue. She took me to my first movie in the cinema at Cineplex on Wilson Road. I dosed off after the opening trailers and she gently woke me up as the credits of Laws of Attraction were rolling up. We enjoyed countless pots of coffee at Ban Cafe, then 1000 Cups, and enjoyed evening taxi rides escorting her back home before I waded back through the darkness alone, as I traced my way to my bachelor’s pad in Bukoto.

Later, we enjoyed eating our Tipsy and Bon Appetit takeaway chips in my first car as we drove around Kampala suburbs daydreaming about the beautiful houses on the hills of Naguru, Muyenga and Kololo. One day we were so crazy and even dressed up and went to Megapix at Jumbo Plaza for a photoshoot. I still remember that morning, we met at Nandos at 8am and strolled over to Megapix. We arrived before they opened, waited and finally did our shoot of this photo.

20 years later we still sit and talk about the music, money, children, faith, family and s*x. 20 years of great, sweet, deep, warm friendship that is a bedrock of our 18 years of marriage. Indeed the Lord has really been good to us. We have many great memories at Daily Monitor, where we worked together and it was a beautiful two-decade phase of our lives…

Honey, forever grateful that our paths met, our hearts connected and our souls locked.
