It’s SO hot outside, we froze the biggest watermelon we could find at HEB and treated the phony ponies to it.
We offer pony parties and individual and small group horse experiences. Mane Events is owned and operated by McKenzie Davis and Amy Elizondo.

Peppermint sticks for treats for the minis today. Sweet Arlo is nearly as big as his momma already.
If anything, I am consistent so as per usual I am posting pics and introducing you all to Violets sweet baby c**t, Arlo several weeks behind. He’s almost a month old now so here’s a few pics over the past three weeks.
Our sweet girl Violet is SO beyond ready for her baby to arrive.
We got to celebrate Olivia’s first birthday rodeo style this weekend. This family was so fun and Olivia might actually be cuter than our minis ;) Pixie was decked out in pink and Bodhi looked adorable in his cowboy hat (we know he doesn’t look thrilled and I can assure you, he probably wasn’t but he’s a trooper!) Happy Birthday Olivia! Thank you Chloe and the Garces family for having us!
We had fun spending some time with some of the families of our deployed airmen at Dyess AFB this evening. We always appreciate the opportunity to share our time with a community that means so much to us!
It was also Violets first time attending an event with us…but as you can see, she was exhausted afterwards 🥱 😴!
Happy Easter From Darby 🐴 and our favorite little bun bun 🐰!
Love when people get a good laugh out of spotting Pixie!
Some of the sunsets at the barn are magical.
It was so nice out today! ☀️ Pixie went for a walk at the park around the zoo. Don’t mind the flower pollen on her nose 🌸
Lessons at sunset.
Happy Valentines Day from the Mane Events crew!
We’re excited to help celebrate the grand opening of the Joseph Thomas Foundations new location in Abilene Friday! This is a fantastic organization run by some dedicated and passionate advocates in our community. Come out and support and be sure to come say hi to some of our Mane Events furry friends!
Come celebrate with the Joseph Thomas Foundation!
Grand Opening: FRIDAY, February 10, 2023 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm!
Thank you to everyone who has helped make this day great! Momma Sallys Food Truck will be serving lunch and will be provided for the first 75 guests! Happy Yappy Co, Mane Events and MRS. PhotoBooth Rental for bringing all the fun!
After all the rain and ice Pixie’s ride needed a good cleaning.
Best friends Lizzy and Lyla after a riding session with Scout and Darby.
A throw back photo from when Pixie 🐴 made a surprise visit during a birthday slumber 😴 party. Let’s just say these girls were absolutely shocked when Pixie walked in during their party 🎉! Such a fun surprise!
Riding lessons during those West Texas sunsets.
We are hoping everyone has had a beautiful
Christmas. Our herd got lots of Christmas love ❤️ Even the minis enjoyed some special holiday treats. 🎄 Merry Christmas 🎁 from the Mane Events family!
Okay parents if any of your kiddos are asking for a pony this year let us know. We’ll have them come out and feed the horses in this weather and see how committed they really are ;)
Ahhhh that horsie smell…
If y’all were at ❄️ winter fest ❄️ this evening and happened to take pictures/videos at the petting zoo or during the pony rides 🐴 we would LOVE to see them! If you’re willing to allow us to use any you submit on our social media we will enter your name in a drawing for a free horse experience for your child! Drawing will be in 1 week. We’ll even mail you a cute holiday themed gift voucher 🎁 for it so that you can put it under the tree 🌲 if you’d like. We met so many awesome kids and families this evening thanks for having us Dyess!
We’re excited to spend the evening with our military community today! Winter Fest is a FREE event for our military members and families. Come on out, enjoy the activities and make some memories! See y’all there!
Did everyone have a good Halloween?! 👻 🎃 🍬 We took Pixie out trick or treating this year. I didn’t get a great picture but she had a lot of fun and took lots of pics with some adorable trick or treaters!
Pixie, Bodhi and that sunset!
Basically like Christmas for the horsies.
Basically like Christmas for the humans too because now we’re broke. ;)

Super interesting info to go along with Indigenous Peoples Day.
For Indigenous people's day - War Paint Symbols
Native Americans would paint their horses before battle and before buffalo hunts to help give their horses supernatural powers.
The symbols would be different in each tribe, but there were common symbols you could find amongst many tribes.
🐴 A circle around the eye was to give the horse better vision
🐴 A circle around the nostril would give the horse an improved sense of smell
🐴 A lightening bolt down the neck and leg was for speed
🐴 Hoof prints would symbolize the number of horses the warrior and his horse had captured together
🐴 Targets would symbolize the number of encampments they had raided together
🐴 The horse's battle scars would be painted to show how many battles he survived
🐴 The Pat Hand Print (left hand drawn on the horse's right hip) was reserved exclusively for the horse who had brought his master back home from a dangerous mission
🐴 Two crossing bars meant that the horse and his rider has escaped an ambush
We’re super excited to volunteer our services at this upcoming event for families of the 317th who have a deployed spouse.
Did you know we are owned and operated by two active duty military families? Giving back to our military community is a privilege we are so grateful for!

We swung by Mi Ranchito on Buffalo Gap rd. Last Sunday and had Pixie in tow. The staff loved on her a bit and offered her a fresh, warm tortilla. Safe to say she loved it! ♥️ So here’s her inhaling her first tortilla! If you haven’t been they have yummy breakfast tacos and I’m a big fan of their street tacos. 🌮 If anyone happens to know any of the owners or staff there please share!
Pixie enjoying a brief rain shower that came through the other evening. Do y’all like a good rain shower?
It’s horse “shedding season”. As the days grow longer ☀️ horses automatically begin the shedding cycle where they lose their winter ❄️ coat and grow a sleeker and lighter summer coat. Check out us combing out Stella 🐴 today. She’d already been groomed earlier but after running barrels today we went at it again. I may be weird but I find brushing them out during shedding season oddly satisfying 🤷♀️
Lessons are even more FUN 🤩 when you get to do them with your bEsTIe! Sarah and June are two of our lesson students and have been friends for years. 💜 They got to give Darby and Pixie baths 🛁 as part of their lesson last week. Y’all did a great job girls!
Pixie loves coming out to play with the big ones. The minute we let her in the pasture she gets in full on SAsSy mode and tries to get the big ones to chase her.
Roman was celebrating his cousins birthday this weekend. He wanted to ride the horses so bad but once he got up close he was scared and decided he didn’t want to. We made some modifications, put his dad next to us and got him to progress from sitting in the saddle and “beeping the horn” to teaching Darby how to count by taking steps and counting them. We went from “no I don’t want to ride” to riding with a huge smile on his face and a “Yee-Haw” within a few minutes. We love horses and we love kids…getting to be a part of moments like this are so special to us. Roman, you did good Kiddo!
