Hi, my name is Emmy and I make wedding spreads for a living. I live and thrive right here in sweet Blissfield, where I’m a generation once removed. My dad, grand dad, great grand parents, lots of aunts and uncles, and other awesome people grew up right here, and I grew up down the road in Ottawa Lake.
I own a bakery alongside my husband Vince. Vince is from Australia. Vince and I are travelers in our past lives, moving here, there and everywhere, but we’ve had 5 fantastic years selling donuts to you fine folks thus far!
Vince and I met working out at summer camp in Maine. We dated long distance for about a year, then I moved to Australia for 3ish years, I moved back home, we got engaged, he moved to America, we got married, we bought a house and bakery, and here we are. We’d love to have a house full of kids but the Lord doesn’t love us like that apparently. So we focus on donuts and cakes.
I primarily focus on weddings, brides, meetings, corporate clients, emails, phone calls, custom cakes, social media, and accounts receivable and accounts payable. Vince focuses on the front of the bakery, he makes all the donuts, cookies, scones, does all the shopping, is the president of Lola and all her events, he does the staff scheduling and is the boss. I do not like telling people what to do so I’m a terrible boss 😂. It literally gives me anxiety so I appreciate him doing that for me.
We’ve got an incredible team (small, but mighty) that works between us. Bridgette bakes all the cakes, cupcakes, macarons, and cake pops. Shes also the cupcake decorating extraordinaire. Leah bounces from station to station lending an extremely helpful hand wherever she can. Tammy, Grace, and Heidi are the real deals who come help us take care of the front of shop, dishes, clean up, cake pop rolling… whatever is needed, they’re there!
Anyway, that’s our story so far. You never know what will happen next, but you can bet it won’t be “standard”… that’s just not how we roll 🤍
