This Monday! Gateways Brass comes to Akron! The Gateways Brass Collective is a resident ensemble of the Gateways Music Festival, whose mission is to support and connect professional classical musicians of African descent and enlighten and inspire communities through the power of performance.

It's this coming Monday, March 31, 7:30 p.m. in Guzzetta Recital Hall, 157 University Ave. The concert is part of UA’s Kulas Concert Series, made possible by generous support from the Cleveland-based Kulas Foundation, and presented in collaboration with Tuesday Musical. The Kulas Concert Series Spring 2025 season resumes next Saturday, March 8, 7:30 p.m. with Genghis Barbie - an innovative and energizing female Horn quartet, putting a horn spin on pop music from all eras. They are the most expansive and versatile group on New York's classical/jazz/pop/indie scene, and a concert you won't want to miss!

Enjoy the concert on Saturday, change your clocks for Daylight Savings Time, and return on Sunday for a side-by-side concert with the Barbies and Horn Day participants on Sunday, March 9, at 4 p.m.

Both concerts are free and open to the public, with donations gratefully accepted. Don't miss it!

Monday, February 10th, Master Gunnery Sergeant, Susan Rider, a 28-year member of “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band, will be on campus for a day-long residency.

Ms. Rider will be teaching trumpet studio at 11:50 a.m. in EJ Thomas Hall, speaking to UA bands and School of Music students in Guzzetta Recital Hall at 1 p.m., and teaching lessons throughout the day.

Our annual Vocal-Choral Festival is underway! Welcome high school students, including Massillon Washington and Chardon High School choirs!

The choirs will be performing en masse with UA's Chamber and Concert Choirs at 3:30 p.m. this afternoon in EJ Thomas Hall. The closing concert is free and open to the public. Hope to see you there!
