📸🎭👏🏻 Got them at separate times…but I got most of them (missing a few!) These are the Vela Theatre Students whom competed at thier first UIL tournament this past Saturday! We are still building, but looks like I have a team! 📸🎭👏🏻 We had about 14 semi-finalist🤩, including teams and 9 broke into Finals🤩!

🎭Saturday May 25th we showed one of the great master theatre classics on stage for contest, “The Miracle Worker” by William Gibson. It took tons of hard work, time and dedication, but our 💚Badger Theatre🖤 truly did an outstanding job! The show was touching, it was strong and it was well executed. We did not place at contest this year, but doing a big classic, there is always that risk. I think one of the most significant benefits of taking risks is that it helps us develop a growth mindset. Learning that it’s ok to fail leads to a love of learning and a willingness to always embrace big challenges. That is what I want for my students. 😊❤️
🌟We did receive two top acting🎭 awards for student Sophia Koenig playing the role of “Anne Sullivan” and Madeline Cortinas playing the role of “Kate Keller”. Noelia Martinez received an award for tech/ 👩🏻‍💻sound operator. 💫🤩 Congratulations to LBj, Liberty and Murphy and all 8 PSJA middle schools! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️
