Thank you to the TBL for their beautiful post about our dear friend Moe Woods. Moe was one of a kind. Anyone who met him fell in love instantly! He was dedicated to his beloved Albany Patroons and coach Rowland! His passing will forever leave a hole in all of our hearts.

You will be missed Moe Woods, your presence standing guard over the & being there for your dear friend Coach Rowland will be missed…

The Albany Armory has suffered a great loss in the passing of Moe Woods. We will forever be grateful for his kindness, laughter, generosity, and cool gentle spirit but mostly we will miss his beautiful friendship.
The Albany Patroons will find solace knowing that Moe will be watching over them from above, cheering them on with his angelic presence.
Moe Woods, you hold a special place in our hearts and will never be forgotten. We love you always and forever.

Huge congratulations to one of our original Adirondack Co****le players, Roberto Silva for winning the ACL Northeast Pro Qualifier gauntlet and having the chance to compete as a Pro Player next season!

You're truly like family to us and we couldn't be happier seeing you earn this opportunity as it's been long overdue with how much time you put into this game!

🚨CHECK IT OUT!🚨 The next Art.Work.Space. Workshop: Anime and Manga with Artist Mentors Mitsu and Ren of CallingFeather ()❗This workshop will be on Saturday, September 14 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Register (free) at the link in bio by Thursday, 9/12 🌞

🖼️About the Workshop: From the whimsy of Studio Ghibli, to the epic fights of shonen, to the magical powers from within shojo, anime and manga is an umbrella for a wide variety of different styles. If you’ve ever been inspired by these immersive stories and its beautiful artwork, know that you can bring your imagination to life with just a few simple tools — pencil and paper. We are two largely self-taught artists who have been drawing, refining, and embracing anime for almost two decades, taking inspiration and influence from our favorite mangaka (manga authors) and films.

🎨The youth will complete style studies using their current favorite characters (and ours! We hope students recognize some of our beloved older titles!) Next, the students will bring the character of their dreams to life to embark on whatever adventure they can think of.

🎭About the Artist Mentors: CallingFeather is made up of a pair of local storytellers, Mitsu and Ren. Friends turned partners, their dream is to write and illustrate their colorful and character-driven stories that draw upon themes and imagery more familiar to Asian folklore, tradition, and artwork. Mitsu’s love for color combined with Ren’s linework take a lot of influence from Japanese media, particularly the beloved and acclaimed Studio Ghibli but also from various manga and anime. “Something we always wanted to try to do with our artwork was evoke emotion and tell a story. We took a lot of elements and influence from hand-drawn animation and we try to incorporate the aesthetics and technique of traditional art in all of our digital work, much like the media we loved and consumed growing up.”

🎊All youth between the ages of 13-18 are invited to attend. The workshop is free, and there is limited space in order to foster a proactive learning environment. Registration is REQUIRED.

Join us for the next Art.Work.Space. Workshop: 🎨The Basics of Spray Paint with Artist Mentor Ramiro Davaro-Comas! This workshop will be on Saturday, July 13 from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Register (free) at the link below by Thursday, 7/11!

Students will have the chance to learn the basics of spray painting and work on a collaborative piece with artist and educator Ramiro Davaro-Comas. Participants will get to try out different style cans and caps and will be shown a variety of different techniques. This is a one of a kind opportunity to get to learn how to use spray paint, ask questions and paint something together! Masks and gloves will be provided.

About the Artist Mentor: Ramiro Davaro-Comas is an Argentine/American artist with a background in public art and arts education. His passions for painting, storytelling, and community work have pushed him to travel throughout his career, collaborating with artists around the world. He has painted over 200 murals, worked with thousands of students and is constantly pushing his public art work.
He is currently co-directing Super Stories, an organization he launched with artist Grace Lang that focuses on art centered story telling projects in community spaces. Their motto is - If you know something, teach it!

The workshop is free, and there is limited space in order to foster a proactive learning environment. Registration is REQUIRED. No prior knowledge or experience in the arts nor topic of specific workshop is necessary. Please include a valid email with registration.

Join us tomorrow, Wednesday, June 19 for a special day in honor of Juneteenth. Beginning at noon, there will be a one-hour musical performance by Lucia and Levi showcasing jazz and blues that has been generously funded by the “Music Performance Trust Fund” (Local 14).
