Wishing our innkeeper, Marc the absolute best retirement, you are so loved and you will be missed! This beautiful inn you have run for the last 42 years has brought countless people together, in so many ways! Congratulations on your retirement!
The Darby Field Inn closed its doors to the public today and will be privately owned going forward, by four families who purchased the B&B. To celebrate, we threw the innkeeper a small party and his staff member, Susan, built him a replica of the inn as a cake!
We would like to thank each and every person who has supported us and The Darby Field Inn over the years, our guests, friends, and family! If you see Marc or Maria, please give them hugs, each and every employee, and family member will need them as well! We hope to run into each of you soon!
We’re sad that the Christmas Cookie Tour couldn’t take place this year, but we’ve decked our halls regardless. What do you think? @selectregistry

This is a historic day!
On this date forty years ago, Marc and Maria Donaldson took over ownership of The Darby Field Inn and Restaurant with their two young children. Over the next forty years, as their family grew, they welcomed guests from all over the world, hosted events from our Christmas Cookie Tour to picturesque mountain weddings, and built lasting bonds with their community and lovely guests.
“From our family to yours, we would like to sincerely thank those of you who have been a part of our story!”
Did you know that our bar, Littlefield’s Tavern, used to be a porch many, many years ago? I have it on good authority that it was likely converted in the 1950s.
Come share a beverage in our cozy tavern this winter, on your stay, or feel at ease to bring your libations to your favorite corner of our little slice of heaven.
