Est. 1908, The Whittlesey House has been lovingly restored as an elegant gathering space for weddings, gatherings, and corporate events.

Drawing inspiration from the lavender fields of the French countryside, slow Southern nights, and the home’s very own history of warm hospitality, we’ve created a thoughtful and inviting event sanctuary. Whether you are looking to gather 100 people for a celebration into the night, or to say your vows in front of a few friends & family followed by an intimate dinner, we are honored to play host to
your big day. We only allow for one wedding per weekend, and a full buyout of the property with a two-night minimum stay is required of all weddings. Our neighboring sister venue, The Bread House & Granary, is the exclusive food & beverage partner for all of our events. We also host all types of wedding-related events, from engagement parties, bridal showers, rehearsal dinners and morning-after brunches, and we can act as a sophisticated and luxurious location for small bachelor and bachelorette getaways. The Whittlesey House is also available for private events and meetings, including company off-sites, small group getaways and all manner of social gatherings, from tea parties to milestone celebrations. Our team will work closely with you to ensure a polished and memorable event.

Suite Highlight Saturday | Here is a glimpse inside of our Lerella Suite, named by our Owner & Venue Manager, a mother-daughter duo, after their family's long-time nanny. This too was an effort to bring their own familial history into the place, but they also liked the idea of all three guest suites having a rhyme-scheme!

Suite Highlight Saturday | Peak inside our Deborah Suite, named after the Owner ("Debbie") by her daughter who fills the role of our Venue Director. This sweet sentiment was her way of bringing a little bit of their own family history into the mix.

The Salon | When renovating the house, we wanted to create a perfect space for a bridal party to get ready. This room includes 4 arm chairs, a vintage Chesterfield sofa, and 2 large mirrors with mobile dressing chairs to offer optimum convenience for primping.
Not renting the space to get ready with your bridesmaids? No problem — Remove the dressing chairs out from in front of the mirrors and have an hors d’ouvres spread on the island for a great secondary living area for party guest mingling!

Suite Highlight Saturday | Open the door to the Theora Suite (the master) named after Theora Whittlesey, the original lady of the house circa 1908, for a peaceful escape. Theora's story of how she loved to hostess and entertain the neighborhood in this very home was what inspired the owner to restore it as the multi-faceted gathering space it is today.
All three of our guest suites include a king bed with fine, organic linens and hypoallegic down-filled pillows, a 72” smart TV, a remote controlled gas fireplace, and their own private bathroom with a walk-in shower, however this suite also has a soaking tub and a “Juliette” balcony overlooking the back yard.

The Parlour | When selecting furniture for this room, we looked for lightweight pieces that would be easy to remove (well, aside from the orange sideboards - those are there to stay) to offer an open space or for reception tables to go in.

Look familiar? The inspiration behind our logo was this cathedral-style transom we have on our front porch! When playing around with ideas for it we went back and forth between this and an icon of the gazebo in our back yard. Ultimately we decided this was the winner! What do you think?
