Orlie Coca, the founder of Orlie's Lowriding Magazine, has left an indelible mark on the lowriding community. The man often referred to as "The Godfather of Hydraulics."Orlie's journey in lowriding began in 1978 in Bellflower, California, where he, alongside hydraulic veterans, explored the potent functions of lowrider hydraulics. His passion led him to organize car-hopping contests, ultimately inspiring him to establish his own brand of car hydraulics. Orlie's Hydraulics became a multimillion-dollar force in the industry, earning him the title "Godfather of Hydraulics."However, success came at a cost when envy turned into a kidnapping, teaching Orlie a valuable lesson about the challenges that accompany progress. Despite overcoming this ordeal, Orlie decided to close his hydraulics shop and move to New Mexico. Orlie's Lowriding Magazine, launched in 1991, became an instant bestseller, covering shows across the United States and Mexico. As the 1990s unfolded, Orlie faced health challenges, leading to the sale of his beloved magazine. Unfortunately, subsequent ownership changes resulted in the decline of Orlie's Lowriding Magazine. Undeterred, Orlie, known for his resilience, shifted his focus to Orlies Hydraulics & Chevy Accessories. In an exclusive interview in the past Orlie reflects on his pivotal role in popularizing hydraulics, his initiation into the lowrider movement, and the creation of Orlie's Lowriding Magazine. Orlie Coca's story is one of resilience, innovation, and a passion for lowriding that has left an enduring legacy in the lowrider community. His contributions, from pioneering hydraulics to creating a celebrated magazine, showcase a man who has weathered challenges and continues to shape the culture he holds dear.
It's always a treat to see all of the classic cars line our parking lot for everyone to admire! ๐ ๐
