What a HAPPY SATURDAY, folks, thanks to all of YOU who showed up and out last night at our FIRST 2025 Art Opening! We just updated our site to show what sold (https://softcornersabq.com/artists-corner) - mil gracias to all of our buyers! From art on the walls to custom jewelry to prints, you all soooo supported local artists and this brand new business last night! We've been open since Sept 27, 2024, and to say we're reeling from the level of interest, support, and joy is an understatement. (We like to be reeling, we're into you all keeping it up.)

The Studio is closed this week, meaning no open hours or events, BUT if you'd like a private viewing, please message me or text 505.355.5711. We'll make it happen! This art tends to fly off the walls, so if you see something you want, let's get you in ASAP!

EAAZ Artworks' Tarot Series takes having *the* unique card collection to a new level: have the card that speaks to you most on your wall, forever.

The Lovers, pictured first, underscores that love transcends death, that beauty can grow from loss, and that our bones carry the essence of connection. These lovers touch without facing each other - are they so connected they need to face each other, or are they stuck in eternity, whether they want to be, or not? What do we risk when we love - what do we gain, what do we lose? This beautifully rendered image taunts as it enchants ...

In The Fool, we see resonances of puppetry and strings, a cloudy sky, but something lovely and blue - sea? sky? - giving his hand a way out - maybe. Is he falling apart, or is her coming back together? Who plucks his - our - strings?

The Moon and The Wheel of Fortune, in Estevan's vision, likewise give us beauty entwined with danger. The Moon is protected by the horns - sharp, stunning, and powerful. Dragonflies play in the "wheel," which is actually a spider web - an object of beauty, of silk, but also, to many of horror and fear ...

What do you see in Medusa's Mirror (first image)? Persephone's (second)? And in the final mirror, do you see the origins of our own humanity, swimming in the sea of possibility?

's work with mirrors and glass not only demands that we stay present as viewers, it also reminds us that we are *part* of the experience, indelibly, inextricably, and whether, frankly, we like it or not.

Harley's focus on Greek mythology intersects with the question his work poses from a myriad of perspectives: What is home? Who gets to have a home? How does power intersect with the permanency of a home, and thus the ability to root and grow?

His mirrors *change us* as we gaze at our own reflections. How, they ask, can you change in a way that causes less harm and more care?

Start within (reflection) while not forgetting about the vast *out there* ...

Cones #1 thru #4 by artist . Tippi has worked with construction cones as a theme for many years, and these new paintings both continue the theme and architect a new path for "under construction."

What does it mean to be "under construction"? How many ways do we understand the construction cone - as a sign of danger? Or care? Temporary mess and madness? Or a permanent state of disarray and disorder?

If the cone changes color, how does the meaning shift within our psyches? If the cone's surrounded by debris, what does that say about how we consume and discard ...?

Tippi's work with Construction Cones begs us to ask ourselves what we see in the ordinary, what we pretend not to see (who put the cone there, and why?), and how we think of ourselves in relation to the shifting world around us.
