Established in 2002 to create an atmosphere where story and character could be observed and interpreted from life. The Drawing Club features drawing sessions and painting sessions from themed models.

7pm - 10pm Tuesday Evenings. The Drawing Club is a safe place for all artists at all levels. We will not tolerate any hate towards our BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ patrons.

We are SOLD OUT online, but you can still get a $25 walk-in spot. We will open limited walk-in patrons at 6:30pm.

November 15th will be the last workshop of 2022 and TDC Team will be hibernating. We will be back on January 10th, so keep your eyes open in early January when we announce our themes! They're going to be super fun and we can't wait to have ya.

This week’s Demo Artist is part of the new Drawing Club team, Bryce Kho! Bryce Kho is a freelance illustrator located in Pasadena, California best known for creating complex, whimsical illustrations that combine real locations with fantasy characters. He is currently working as a concept artist for Sabotage Studio’s upcoming game Sea of Stars.

We are including Guest Demo Artists in every workshop to encourage community and inspire other artists who attend. The Guest Demo Artist will do a short demo that is free for anyone to watch during the workshop. Artists are encouraged to ask questions or observe.
Watching the Demo is not mandatory, and artists can choose to keep drawing instead. :)

Hey everyone!
We have some unfortunate news:
We have to cancel our next Tuesday evening workshop as Gallery Nucleus was overbooked and they will have a week long evening event that will not allow us enough time to run the workshop. We also cannot find a model for the last minute changes. We are so sorry for the inconvenience, but we do have Aug 16, 23, and 30 dates available!

Hey everyone! Brenda here and hoping you all had a wonderful July 4th weekend.

Thank you all who have been waiting for The Drawing Club to return because we now have a huge announcement from Bob!

"Hello Everyone,

In March 2020 Covid-19 started spreading quickly around the world and we decided the right thing to do was to put our workshop on hold to help protect everyone’s safety. Now, more than 2 years later I am happy to announce the return of The Drawing Club Drawing Workshop!

August 2022 will mark the 20th anniversary of The Drawing Club. I started this workshop in 2002 to create an environment where artists can explore drawing different characters in costume from life each week. Who knew we would still be around 20 years later. After over 34 years of teaching I find myself having to make some difficult decisions regarding my work schedule. Unfortunately, it has become more difficult for me to make time to run evening workshops.

Here's the great news! I am thrilled to announce that Brenda Chi, Lai Xu and Bryce Kho have partnered with me when we return. They are the perfect people to help lead The Drawing Club into the next 20 years. I am so excited about the new ideas and enthusiasm they will bring as our workshop restarts after a long time off.

Here's some details for now:
The Drawing Club will now run on Tuesday evenings 7pm-10pm starting in August 2022!

$20 entry, just like old times!

Refreshments will be served!

RSVP link will be posted soon on eventbrite*, but you can still do walk-ins, first come first served.
*Does not include online fees.

To respect the model who will be performing maskless, we ask all our attendees to wear a mask during the workshop.
