We recently renovated a 54’ x 19’ attached space in the barn that we originally used for storage space. We added 3 sliding barn doors with a 34’ opening for fresh air to come in the main part of the barn. We also just added an outdoor 34’ patio to dance under the stars. We moved in the 1925 bar. The barn originally was built in 1850. It was turned into a golf course/restaurant in 1925 and then it closed in 2010. We purchased the property in 2015 and started renovations. We opened in 2016.

Rates for 2024 & 2025
Fridays $4,395
Saturdays $4,995

Rental time is from 10 AM - 11 PM and then time to pack up after.

No charge for your ceremony when you have your reception with us

No event insurance needed

The down payment is $1,500

We are open mid April through the 3rd weekend in November.

For Friday events, you may decorate for 2 hours on Thursday afternoon, then we have the rehearsals after.

We have a furnace in the barn.

Number of guests are 225 people including the wedding party

30 Handmade Amish tables and chairs included

You may bring in your own insured food caterer

A one hour rehearsal is included or you may upgrade to a two hour rehearsal and use our rehearsal room. It is available to rent for $125 more to bring in your own rehearsal dinner for up to 40 people for an additional hour for a 2 hour rehearsal

If you choose to have alcohol, we only use The Liquor Cabinet Co. Please email them for their pricing at [email protected] You would pay The Liquor Cabinet for your alcohol. Anything unopened is refunded by them.

We have a nice amount of inexpensive items to rent for decorating over $2500 worth for a $500 package. Also everything is individually priced if you would rather just rent a couple items, or you may gladly bring in all of your own items.

Also our son Brandon is a DJ and does about 25 of our weddings each year along with many other wedding venues. He is also the Central Michigan University DJ. He also worked in Mount Pleasant at a couple bars for many years. He mixes (live) music, the best part of one song, with the best part of the next song. You can reach Brandon at [email protected] he would be happy to do your event at another location. He charges $995. You may also bring in your own DJ.

We just renovated our wedding barn venue in a 54’ x 19’ attached space in the barn that we originally used for storage. We added 3 sliding barn doors with a 34’ opening for fresh air to come in the main part of the barn. We also moved in our antique bar used in the house when it was a restaurant. Also, we added an outdoor 34’ patio to dance under the stars.

The barn originally was built in 1850. It was turned into a golf course/restaurant in 1925 and then it closed in 2010. We purchased the property in 2015 and added on to the barn. Also we added an outdoor chapel with church bell and a 2 porches to the barn using the 1850 wood.

Welcome to our 1850 Farm, The Gathering LLC~

Our Wedding/Charity/Event Center.

$2,995.00 For Fridays or Saturdays, we are closed on Sundays for church and family time.

$1,000.00 down payment with contract signed to hold the date, the balance of $1,995.00 is due two months before the event.

*One nice benefit for Friday weddings/receptions is that you may decorate a day early.

Included:

~Rental from 10am to 11pm, plus time to pack up after.

~ 1850 Barn with two story roof and hand hewn beams throughout the barn. We have 23 windows for lots of natural light.

~ Wedding Chapel w/Bell Tower hand built using some of the 1850 wood from the barn and a hand built cupola with a antique bell and antique weather vane that works. Also we used antique corbels all on the porches and chapel. We do not charge for weddings. If you choose to be married at our farm, there is no extra cost for your wedding.

~ We can fit 225 people including the wedding party

~ Handmade Amish 8 1/4' Tables with hand turned legs, no expensive linen rental needed.

~ Beautiful White Slotted Chairs with wide legs, no chair cover rental needed.

~ Antique Arched Table from a Victorian Church that used as their communion table, which would make a wonderful gift table.

~ Antique Wainscot Table for your desserts.

~ Barn Porch with antique corbels.

~ Eight Antique/Vintage Large Brass & Crystal Prism Chandeliers in the Barn, also one in the wedding chapel, one on the barn porch and one in the bride's room.

~ I will have a few darling items for you to use if you wish at no cost to you. The pictured chalkboard door is one of them.

~ Three Large Industrial Nickel 5 Speed Ceiling Fans installed for nice air flow.

~ New Furnace & Air Conditioning in the back foyer, brides room and bathrooms of the house.

~ Indoor Ceremonial/Dance Floor Area in the barn

~ One hour of rehearsal time

~ Includes set up/tear down of tables and chairs for your special day.

~ Staff onsite for your special day.

~ You may choose all your own licensed and insured food caterers, dj, and florist of your choice. If you choose to have alcohol, we use Bars by Butch. You can find them online. They have hundreds of weddings booked this year.

~ We have an 1850 Victorian house. It is over 5,000 square feet and the wedding party may use back part of it to enjoy the day getting ready. There is a special very large remodeled bride's room with brick pavers and a large mirror, full length mirror and antique white furniture with an attached large two stall bathroom. The guys also have a large remodeled two stall bathroom.

~ For your guests, a large foyer decorated with cottage shabby chic antiques, and two brand new 2 stall bathrooms with brick pavers and white subway tile.

~ Parking assistance and large lighted paved parking lot.

~ We were told that there was a pond a few years ago on site, it has darling cat tails in a circle and we will be trying to get that going hopefully and with a nice fountain.

~ Original putting tee from when the farm was turned into a golf course in 1923 to reminisce.

~ Covered Large Outdoor Patio over looking 60 acres of beautiful farmland. In 1850, the farm was built on 60 acres, and then in 1923, it was turned into a golf course with a 200 person restaurant in the 5,500 square foot Victorian house. It closed a few years ago. Last year just before we purchased the farm, 56 acres was sold and a local farmer now farms the land. It was wonderful to see the land not sit and waste and turn back into its glory and be farmed again. My husband's family has a centennial farm and Cliff just loved growing up on a dairy farm. We have four acres with the farm and it overlooks the original 56 acre farm land. Also, the farmer does a cash crop, so my husband said we shouldn't have to worry about any smell on the fields for the ceremony/reception. Also, thankfully, we have not had any issues with water or flooding on the land. We have a large covered porch on the back of the house over looking the farm land. It has beautiful rolling hills and the color is amazing in the fall. There are no neighbors within close site, so there is lots of privacy. Also, we are on a main paved road running through Allegan, no dirt roads to worry about with bad weather.

There are three large bedrooms upstairs in the house and we may someday offer a bridal suite or guest rooms.

We are just 10 minutes west of US 131 Highway on M89,(Lincoln Rd.) which is the main road running into Allegan. If you get off 131 on Exit 49B Once you exit the highway, we are on that road 10 minutes west of 131. We are just 20 minutes from Kalamazoo. Our address is 1058 Lincoln Rd. Allegan MI, 49010 There are darling B&B's in town as well as hotels within 10 to 15 minutes. If you get off the Allegan exit, there are multiple turns so it is easier to stay on until the 49B exit.

Hi Everyone,

Congratulations to Nick and Alyssa, our first wedding yesterday. What a blessing to be a part of it. This is a picture of the chapel. There is a prism chandelier up inside of the chapel.

Now that we have everything completed, I will take several new pictures in the next day or so and post. The windows can easily be removed if you would rather have it open.

Here are a few pictures of the items we will be bringing to the barn. I ordered 30 handmade Amish tables 8 1/4' long with hand turned legs. We will be putting in approximately a dozen vintage chandeliers. Also the bar will be handmade out of an antique door just like our store counter.

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to our 1850 Farm. We are so thankful to share with you that we are opening a wedding barn venue in September. Our price is $2,995. for Friday and Saturdays from 10am to 11pm. It seats 225 people including the wedding party. There are approx. 20 windows for lots of natural light. I just ordered 30 Amish hand made tables with thick dark tops and hand turned white legs with white chairs.

Also, we will be putting in an antique 5' to 6' high triple layer fountain inside the barn.

Also, I purchased an 1800's arched front table that came from a church to use for the barn. It is a perfect size for a sweetheart table or gift table. Also, we have another antique wainscot table and I just dropped those off to our Amish builder that builds items for our store to freshen them up a bit and add some legs to one.

Also, we will be adding many antique/vintage prism chandeliers in the barn after Cliff powers washes it in a couple weeks and our electrician wires it for the lighting and exit lights. I have approx. 30 chandeliers I purchased over the last couple years to choose from. The rest we will sell the rest of those in our store in town. Also, we will have an antique re-purposed bar made out of an antique door like we have at the store.

We have a nice size brides room with two large windows for natural daylight. We also have two large barrier free bathrooms handicap accessible. We also have a large area for the guys to hang out in. Also, we left one of the putting greens on the farm. Next year sometime, we will have our natural spring pond ready that is on the farm.

Cliff just planted grass in the back where we removed 3 dead trees and ground the stumps ground up. Also there is a large 5' handicap accessible new sidewalk running from the house, to the barn, to the wedding chapel outside. The house has mostly all the antique wavy rippled glass french door windows. We are picking up several more perennials and trees to plant this coming week, then we can get the stones down.

There will be an hour of rehearsal time and we welcome suggestions on how to make your day truly unique. You may choose all your own licensed and insured food caterers, dj, and florist of your choice. If you choose to have alcohol, we will have one or two bartender services we would like you to use. We would love to give you a tour of the farm.

We have a $1,000 down payment to hold your date. It includes set up/tear down of tables and chairs for your special day. Also parking assistance and large lighted paved parking lot.

Cliff just started the outdoor wedding chapel yesterday. It was made with some antique lumber from the barn. The antique bell pictured will sit on top of the chapel inside of a cupola and the antique weather vane will sit on top of that along with 8 antique corbels on each side of the posts.

We will have several Victorian gingerbread architectural pieces. Inside the barn, we will have a ten foot architectural piece hanging from the ceiling to house the inside wedding ceremonial area in case of rain or cold weather.

Also, our son has done quite a bit as a dj at Central Michigan University, and a couple restaurants nearby. If you are interested, please let me know. Brandon's price is $400.
