We had another big week, including a couple of simultaneous events. On Sunday we were at the Sunday Socials, the Monday & Tuesday, Steve helped out with Mobile Recreation at Sudman & Moore Parks. Tuesday night found Mick at Concerts and Markets in Southgate. On Thursday, Steve helped out with Cub Day Camp while Mick twisted balloons for a company picnic. Friday, Steve was at the Allen Park Farmers Market.

This week, Mick is up first with Markets & Concerts on Tuesday. Steve will be at Dawn Pullis State Farm Agent - Allen Park for their Fire Safety Day. Friday and Saturday will be huge as we'll both be at the Allen Park Street Fair all day. On Sunday, we'll be at the Back to School event for the Downriver Foster Closet.

07/28/2024

We’re at the Sunday Socials until 4 today. Stop by for balloons, live music, and family fun.

The Weekly Update (July 21, 2024)

Another big week. Vendor shows on Tuesday (Southgate Markets & Concerts) and Friday (Allen Park Farmers Market). We also did two appearances at local parks (on Tuesday and Wednesday), the Sunday Social in Wyandotte, an epic Allen Park Block Party, and on Saturday, we were at the Allen Park DDA' Touch a Truck. We hit nearly 2000 inflations this week

Next week we have two park visits in Allen Park with Sudman on Monday and Moore on Tuesday, both will be from 10:00 am - noon. On Thursday, Mick is doing a corporate picnic while Steve is at a cub event in Commerce Towhship. We have markets on Tuesday in Southgate and on Friday in Allen Park and the Sunday Social in Wyandotte on Sunday from noon to 4.

One of the best ways to see where will be is on our website, where we'll link to more information about public events if we can find it.

The Weekly Update (July 14, 2024)

It was a pretty good week: Mick did Markets & Concerts in Southgate on Tuesday. On Friday, he did Sounds in Downtown in Romulus while Steve did the Allen Park Farmers Market. On Saturday, Steve did the Knights of Columbus Picnic in Allen Park and Mick did a birthday party on Sunday to finish up the week.

This week is pretty busy too. Steve is helping out with Allen Park's Mobile Recreation Program on Tuesday (Humpty Dumpty) and Wednesday (Moore Park) from 10:00 am - noon both days. Mick is back at Markets & Concerts in Southgate from 4:30 -7:30. Mick will be at a Family Fun Day on Wednesday afternoon. Friday Steve will be at the Allen Park Farmer's Market from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm and on Saturday, it's Touch-A-Truck in Allen Park (Bob Seger Blvd & Philomene) from 10:00am - 2:00 pm, then a block party. Sunday is the Sunday Socials from noon -4:00 pm at First & Elm in Wyandotte.

The Weekly Update (July 7, 2024)

The holiday meant we started off a little slow this week. Steve did the Allen Park Farmers Market on Friday with the lowest number so far this year. He and Mick joined forces on Sunday for the 🎶 Sunday Socials: A Weekly Family-Friendly Music Series 🎶. The big event for the week though was unplanned; we got an urgent call from a friend at The City of Gibraltar. We spent our Independence Day at the community center where we got clost to 1500 balloons.

This week is a little busier. Mick has his usual Tuesday at Markets and Concerts in the Park in Southgate from 4:00 pm - 7:30 pm. On Tuesday, Steve will do a Fire Safety event for Dawn Pullis State Farm Agent - Allen Park at her office from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm. On Friday, Steve will be at the Allen Park Farmers Market from 3:00 PM - 7:00 pm and Mick will be at Sounds in Downtown for Romulus from 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm and on Sunday, he's doing a private party.

All in all, we should be pretty busy this week.

The Weekly Update (June 30, 2024)

It was a pretty big week for us. Steve and Mick each did a market (Steve's was Allen Park Farmers Market and Mick's was Southgate's Markets & Concerts). We both twisted a lot of balloons (nearly 800) at the Bash at Bishop . We also performed for a children's theater workshop and a Slice of Day Camp for Mahican District of Scouting America, and finally, Mick was at the Sunday Social on Sunday.

The first week of July is looking a little lighter because of the holiday. We'll have the Allen Park Farmers Market on Friday from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm and the Sunday Socials at 1st and Elm in Wyandotte on Sunday from noon to 4:00 pm.

You may have seen the blurb, but CBS Detroit plans to air an interview with Steve on Monday, July 1, during the 5:00 pm broadcast.

The Weekly Update (June 23, 2024)

Sorry to be a day late; I was traveling.

Mick did most of the heavy lifting last week by twisting at Southgate's Markets & Concerts in the Park and the Vendor Event at The 8th Side. Steve twisted for a theater camp for kids in Dearborn and that was it. Things are slowing down a bit...

This week, we're twisting for a scout even on Monday. On Tuesday we have another visit to the theater in the afternoon and Markets & Concerts from 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm. Our weekend is pretty busy too with Allen Park Farmers Market on Friday from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Bishop Park Bash in Wyandotte from noon to 3:00 pm on Saturday, and the Sunday Social at 1st & Elem from noon to 4:00 pm on Sunday.

As always, we can't twist at your event if you don't invite us!

06/18/2024

Tonight, Mick will be at the Markets & Concerts in the Park event in Southgate from 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm. It's in the corner of the mall at Trenton & Eureka (13631 Eureka Rd).
This is our first time at this event and we're looking forward to it!

The Weekly Update (June 16, 2024)

It was another busy week this week with 3 classroom visits, 2 picnics, Sunday Socials, Taylor Touch-a-Truck, The Allen Park Farmers Market, Romulus' Sounds in Downtown, a birthday party, and a visit to the park. Steve may have reached his longest streak of days with at least one gig ever at 8.

This week, school is out and things will be a little easier. We're visiting the Southgate Markets in the Park on Tuesday, doing some work with theater kids on Thursday and finishing up the week with the Allen Park Farmers Market on Friday, a vendor event at The 8th Side on Saturday (also Free RPG Day), and a block party on Sunday.

Most of those are public events and we'd love to see you there.

The Weekly Update (June 9, 2024)

It's been another big week for us, with the Allen Park Farmers Market, Sunday Socials in Wyandotte, 2 classroom visits, 2 school picnics, and a birthday party. All told, we had about 25 hours of twisting this week.

This week is almost exactly the same: 3 classroom visits, two picnics, the Farmer's Market, and the Sunday Social. The Farmer's Market is at Park & Harrison from 3:00 pm -7:00 pm on Fridays and the Sunday Social is on Sundays from Noon to 4:00 pm at 1st & Elm in Wyandotte.

The jokes are usually bad, but the balloons are always free!

The Weekly Update (June 2, 2024)
We had a pretty busy weekend! We did on classroom visit on Thursday and it was the only small one. On Friday, Steve was at the Allen Park Farmers Market where he inflated just over 200 balloons. Saturday was much busier as Steve and Mick topped 750 balloons at Weiss Elementary's Carnival. On Sunday we were both on-hand again for the inaugural Sunday Social in Wyandotte where we topped 175 balloons.

This week is very busy. We have 2 classroom visits on Tuesday, 2 class picnics on Thursday, the Farmer's Market on Friday, and another Sunday Social to round out our week.

The Weekly Update (May 19, 2024)
Only two events this week, but one of them was a doozy!

We were at the Allen Park Farmers Market on Friday and we got the counter up to 290. That's the highest number so far this year and there were lots of vendors out there too. Congrats to the Allen Park DDA on growing the market.

On Saturday, we twisted balloons for the APAC Hardball/Softball opening day and it was pretty busy, like a line for both of us for about 4 hours straight busy. The kids and the people running the event were both awesome and we've asked them if we can come back for the closing day later.

This week, we have the Farmer's Market from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Friday. On Saturday the 25th, we'll be at the Downriver Foster Closet twisting balloons and helping to assemble bikes. Even if you can't do either of those things (and Steve is terrible with the bikes), they could still use some help with running games and serving food. One extra thing this week is a classroom visit on Tuesday.

As always, let us know if we can help with your event!

The Weekly Update (May 12, 2024)

Only two events this week after all. The third one was rained out.

Both events were on Friday, so I only did three hours at the Allen Park Farmers Market. The market was huge this week, very nearly a full house of vendors. I left at 6, but when I left I was at 245. Last week I was at 251, so I'm saying it was bigger -- I know I'd have done at least 6 or 7 balloons in that hour.

Also on Friday, I visited Lindemann Elementary School where the PTA put on a great carnival. It seemed very successful, and I spend 2 hours twisting balloons. I was so busy twisting I didn't notice people had started throwing money on the table (seriously). We don't take tips, so we're going to donate them to the Downriver Foster Closet.

This week, we again have a couple of things. The Farmer's Market on Friday from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm. On Saturday, we've been asked to help out with the Allen Park Athletic Club's opening day at Champaign Park from noon - 3:00 pm

The Weekly Update (May 5, 2024)

Only two events this week: the Allen Park Farmers Market and Activity Night for Ava at Cabrini. We did about 250 at the Farmer's Market and less than that at the fundraiser. We were up at the market and there were many fun things to do at the fundraiser so we didn't see everyone.

This week, we have the Allen Park Farmers Market on Friday where we'll have to leave early to make it to the Lindemann School Carnival that same night. On Saturday we'll be at Spring Fling, a craft show at The 8th Side in Lincoln Park.

We've also started making some updates to our website at https://balloonguys.org which is the best place to book us.

The Weekly Update (April 28, 2024)

We had three events this week and they were all a lot of fun. On Friday, we were at the Allen Park Farmers Market where Steve inflated nearly 250 balloons (it was 5 more than last week).

Saturday we were at Ritter Elementary in South Rockwood, where between us, we had more than 800 inflations. We almost ran out of "monkey-colored" balloons as we were next to a petting which had a monkey named Caesar who is the biggest "influencer" we've ever worked with.

Sunday, we were at a Family Fun Day put on by Blue Hands United. It was another big day -- we twisted about 700 balloons and we weren't even the only twisters there. We saw many Downriver favorite entertainers there including Balloon Joy who made a beautiful arch for the event and twisted too, they also had help from Addies Character Parties, BlingmeupbyApril, and probably some others we didn't recognize. It was a great event!

This week, we have a couple of things: Allen Park Farmer's Market on Friday from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm and the Activity Night for Ava at Cabrini High School from 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm. The flyer for the Activity Night is attached.

The Weekly Update (April 21, 2024)

Things are starting to heat up as we head into summer. If you're hoping for us to attend your event, you should book now! We've already had to turn down a few double-bookings and we're getting new requests almost every day.

This week, we twisted at Duda Tot Lot on Monday, then made a balloon arch and twisted at the Allen Park Farmers Market on Friday and finished up at a craft show to benefit competive cheer on Saturday. All told, it was about 16 hours of twisting.

The easiest way to book us is with a request on our website:

If you need some balloons twisted, we'd love to hear from you. Our focus is on community events, but we'll consider just about anything.

The Weekly Update (April 14, 2024)

Another slow week. We did some twisting at the park on Monday and had a meeting on Tuesday, but that was it.

We're about to step back into the thick of things though. The Allen Park Farmers Market starts back up on Friday, April 19 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm, then there's a craft fair on Saturday the 20th from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm at Christ Episcopal Church in Dearborn

04/08/2024

The Weekly Update (April 7, 2024)

Not much to report this week. We didn't have any twisting events and it was too cold and/or rainy to hang out at the park. Steve did do an interview with Allen Park Presbyterian Church for their Good News! show.

We don't have any events scheduled this week either, but it looks like the weather will be great for some park visits in the early part of the week.

04/01/2024

The Weekly Update (March 31, 2024)

The weather was not our friend this week and so there were no visits to the park. We did do some twisting at a craft show for Dearborn Seniors on Monday, the 25th. We inflated about 400 balloons.

At the moment, we don't have anything scheduled until Friday, April 19th when the Allen Park Farmers Market kicks off at 3:00 pm and runs until 7:00 pm. It's at Park & Harrison and we'll be there pretty much every Friday until the end of October.

This week's weather doesn't look great for twisting, but maybe that'll change.

The Weekly Update (March 24, 2024)

We had a busy weekend with some time helping Wade and her 4 legged friends on Saturday. The weather didn't really cooperate, it was dry but very cold and windy. We inflated about 30 balloons in 2 hours, but we did have fun. On Sunday, we were at the Easter event for Downriver Foster Closet which was indoors and much busier with nearly 400 balloons inflated.

Tomorrow we'll be at the Dearborn Performing Arts Center from Noon - 7:00 pm supporting a craft fair to benefit seniors living in Dearborn.

We made the flyer! Maybe we are famous :)

We made the flyer! Maybe we are famous :)

Hi friends Wade here,
I have updated my flyer for the Easter Walk. I have listed at the bottom all of my supporters. I can’t do this alone, listed are my small business friends and my local friends volunteering their time. Thank you to everyone ❤️🐕🐾

The Weekly Update (March 17, 2024) Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We managed to visit Harold N Duda Tot Lot twice this week. We had a lot of fun twisting balloons and got close to 400 between the two visitis. On Saturday, we attended a Daddy-Daughter Dance at the The Grecian Center where there were more than 150 daughters. We made a LOT of flowers and inflated more than 700 balloons.

This week, we have an event from Noon - 2:00 pm at Roll Models Bike Shop which is the start of the Wade and her 4 legged friends Easter Dog Parade. It's to support local dog charities and of course, the balloons will be free. We have a private event on Sunday and then Monday we'll be at the Dearborn Performing Arts Center from Noon - 7:00 pm supporting a craft fair to benefit seniors living in Dearborn.

03/14/2024

Next Saturday, March 23, we'll be at Roll Models Bike Shop in Allen Park while they're helping Wade and her 4 legged friends with their Easter Parade. We'll be there from noon to 2:00pm. Not only are kids and parents welcome, but also friendly dogs on leashes.

It seems like a great time and they're collecting just about everything a dog could need to support RoughNeck Dog Rescue.

Hope to see you there!
