Meet the newly formed Butler County Fair Junior Fairboard!

This year, directors Jason Johnson and Steve Dilger had several requests from students wanting to get more involved in the workings of the Butler County Fair. The Fairboard made a decision to pilot a new group called the Junior Fairboard. The ten members are Butler County 4-Her’s, ages 11 – 17, and were chosen by the fairboard to create and pilot this program.

Below are Jack Heidesch, Kelsie Kluiter, Sydney Sharp, Kennedy Backer, Abby Wilson, Cayla Rosendahl, Lilly Stirling, Paisley Ruby and Kyle Neuhaus. Not pictured is Lola Stirling.

These hardworking 4-Her’s have been meeting at the fairgrounds to paint, rake, pick up trash and help beautify the fairgrounds. After the fair, they will meet regularly to create the duties and responsibilities of the group, choose events they will lead, elect officers, and learn teamwork, leadership and goal setting skills – just to name a few.

Congratulations! You are appreciated and we look forward to working with you!

Thanks for all the hard work to the kids, parents and, leaders that came up and helped on Saturday. The grounds is looking great!

For their summer service project, the Jefferson Livewires 4-H Club did cleanup at the Butler County Fairgrounds on Saturday, June 1. They weeded and mulched the current flower beds and mulched around some of the trees and bushes to help get the fairgrounds ready by June 18 when the fair begins. The club workers are pictured above mulching at the largest flower bed near the bathrooms on the fairgrounds. Pictured from left to right are Olive Hummel, Lydia Fleshner, Daniel Boelman, Mark Boelman, Linde Fleshner, Colby Wix, Molly Stirling, Eden Wix, C**t Stirling, Macy Stirling and Izzy Stroberg.
