The Alma Elks Lodge attended the St. Louis Christmas Parade and the Alma Christmas Parade. Thank you to Anthony Farr for hauling the Elks trailer and to John, Jason, Mike, Elroy (Kelly) for riding along.

Our phone line is currently down and has been since Wednesday. We are waiting for Fontier to find and repair the wiring issue.
We are asking anybody who has called and left a message since Wednesday or wants to sign up for our Christmas Dinner to eat inside or have it delivered please sign up by commenting on this post. Please specify if you are eating at the the lodge or would like it delivered. We will post as soon as our phone is fixed and back working. Save The Date!!! We are Excited to announce our upcoming event for January 25th at the Alma Elks Lodge. Tickets are $20 each and $5 of each ticket sold will go to the Veterans Association. Tickets will be available soon. Stay tuned for more details.

Deadline approaching quickly……Get your Essays and Coloring sheets turned in!!!

We’re excited to announce that our Americanism committee is eager to invite your friends and family members to participate in this year’s contests! This is a wonderful opportunity to express creativity and patriotism.

**Essay Contest:**
This year’s theme is **“What Does Patriotism Mean To Me.”** We have four divisions based on grade levels:

- **Division 1:** 5th Grade
- **Division 2:** 6th Grade
- **Division 3:** 7th Grade
- **Division 4:** 8th Grade

For the essay contest, the Grand Lodge of Elkdom will award generous prizes at the national level: $1,000 for 1st place, $500 for 2nd place, and $250 for 3rd place in each division. Additionally, the Michigan Elks Association will give $75 for 1st place and $50 for 2nd place in each division.

**Coloring Contest:**
This year’s theme for our coloring contest is **“I Pledge Allegiance to the Flag.”** There are two divisions for this contest:

- **Division 1:** 1st & 2nd Grade
- **Division 2:** 3rd & 4th Grade

Prizes for the coloring contest include $60 and a plaque for 1st place, $40 and a plaque for 2nd place, and $25 and a plaque for 3rd place, all courtesy of the Michigan Elks Association.

**Important Dates:**
All entries for both contests must be submitted to your local Lodge by **December 15, 2024, COB.** This is a fantastic way to showcase our families and communities’ commitment to the values of the Elks and to celebrate our shared American spirit!
