At our October Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Meeting, State Representative Kelly Keisling presented Richard and Wendy DeVries with a proclamation signed by Tennessee House of Representative Speaker, Cameron Sexton, State Senator Randy McNally, and State Senator Ken Yager. It is rare to be awarded one of these proclamations and it will now enter into the State Archives.
Rep. Keisling then read the proclamation to the audience. The proclamation is in recognition of the work they have done with their family friendly marina, East Port Marina, and the community they live in β bringing attention to much needed service for the area, working with the Dale Hollow Lake Marina Association which also gives back to the local community by providing scholarships to each county they serve. They received the Synchrony Award in 2022 for excellent customer care and excelled in the recovery following the devastating flooding in 2022 which washed the marina downstream. They owned the marina from 2011 to 2024 and have done a lot of wonderful things in that length of time. It is an honor and he commended them on their 17-year tenure. By the way, Governor Bill Lee and State Representative Kelly Keisling also signed the document.
Richard and Wendy gratefully accepted the Proclamation. It is such an honor. They have met many great people through the years and have enjoyed immensely their time at the marina. They will continue to live in their home in Bolestown and currently are active in their business at The Farm at East Port. Itβs just time to step back and enjoy more family time. Thank you!
