(Post by Nancy Solari) We had a wonderful time reminiscing at Vilas Pool over the weekend and shared many memories of the scary walk across the bridge, the crows nest , , the waterfall, paddle boats , learning to swim in very cold water and spying on lovers behind the bell tower !
We came here beginning in the 1960 ‘s from our trailer on Ball Hill Road with our grandfather to swim during many hot summer days .
We came from Brighton Ma but spent three to four days a week on the land inherited on Ball Hill Road. Lots of fun in in Langdon snd Vilas !
It was so nice to visit recently and see much work has gone into restoring g and saving this treasure
Thank you snd hope to be back next summer with the Brighton gang !

The Vilas Pool Snack Shack is finally finished. We received a NH Moose grant for the project. The Snack Shack was raised and drainage installed. We have a new roof and new floor. Thank you Bellows Construction from Alstead for our beautiful refurbished Vilas Pool Snack Shack. Stop by and check out the project Wednesday thru Sunday 11am to 7pm.

There will be a Celebration of Life at Vilas Pool (Acworth Road, Alstead NH 03602) on Saturday, August 17th from 3:00-7:00 pm. All are welcome to come celebrate Phil with a Budweiser. We hope to see you there.

John Philip Phil Shand 1955-2024 John Philip Phil Shand, beloved husband, father, Papa, brother, uncle and friend was born on January 11, 1955, in Burlington Vermont to Conrad Shand and Florence Shand Isham. He grew up in Alstead, New Hampshire and continued to visit family in Burlington for years.....

Vilas Pool Park needs help! We are looking for individuals that want to work, be detailed, serve our customers at the park with a smile and work weekends. Must be able to follow the park standards set up by the Vilas Pool Committee. You may pickup an application at the town office, during normal business hours or print off the application from the Town of Alstead NH Website and drop off at Vilas Pool Park Wednesday thru Sunday 11am to 7pm. ALSTEAD — Two swan paddle boats were dropped off at Vilas Pool on Monday, restoring balance and then some after the town’s swan boat went missing last year.

Happy 4th of July!! Vilas Pool Park will open today 11am to 7pm. Free entry to enjoy picnicking, swimming, and paddle boats at the historic park. Have a wonderful safe holiday.
