It is run by an advisory board and volunteers. We are always looking for volunteers so please consider stopping by and seeing what we have going on! The recreational location has been a favorite for many generations. It is a great place to spend the day relaxing and enjoying the beautiful scenery. We have a swimming area, picnic areas, paddle boats, kayaking, hiking, horse shoes and a children's

playground. We also have a beautiful Carillon (Bell Tower) also donated to the Town of Alstead by Mr. It is a beautiful place to hold any of your family events such as weddings, family reunions, birthday parties and family bar-b-ques. (Post by Nancy Solari) We had a wonderful time reminiscing at Vilas Pool over the weekend and shared many memories of the scary walk across the bridge, the crows nest , , the waterfall, paddle boats , learning to swim in very cold water and spying on lovers behind the bell tower !
We came here beginning in the 1960 ‘s from our trailer on Ball Hill Road with our grandfather to swim during many hot summer days .
We came from Brighton Ma but spent three to four days a week on the land inherited on Ball Hill Road. Lots of fun in in Langdon snd Vilas !
It was so nice to visit recently and see much work has gone into restoring g and saving this treasure
Thank you snd hope to be back next summer with the Brighton gang !

The Vilas Pool Snack Shack is finally finished. We received a NH Moose grant for the project. The Snack Shack was raised and drainage installed. We have a new roof and new floor. Thank you Bellows Construction from Alstead for our beautiful refurbished Vilas Pool Snack Shack. Stop by and check out the project Wednesday thru Sunday 11am to 7pm.

John Philip Phil Shand 1955-2024 John Philip Phil Shand, beloved husband, father, Papa, brother, uncle and friend was born on January 11, 1955, in Burlington Vermont to Conrad Shand and Florence Shand Isham. He grew up in Alstead, New Hampshire and continued to visit family in Burlington for years.....

Vilas Pool Park needs help! We are looking for individuals that want to work, be detailed, serve our customers at the park with a smile and work weekends. Must be able to follow the park standards set up by the Vilas Pool Committee. You may pickup an application at the town office, during normal business hours or print off the application from the Town of Alstead NH Website and drop off at Vilas Pool Park Wednesday thru Sunday 11am to 7pm. ALSTEAD — Two swan paddle boats were dropped off at Vilas Pool on Monday, restoring balance and then some after the town’s swan boat went missing last year.

Due to weather conditions, Vilas Pool Park is closing down so our staff may go home. We will open back up tomorrow at 11am. Trees are coming down on the roads so please stay safe.

The Vilas Pool Mgmt. Committee will be applying for another NH State Moose grant in hopes we will be able to repair and eventually paint the parks foot bridge. Our first Grant we received, we were able to repair the rot on the front and underneath the Pavilion. The 2nd grant we received, we are using it to salvage and repair the Snack Shack this summer. The Moose grant is funded totally by those of us driving around with Moose plates on our vehicles. Keep your fingers crossed that we are able to be selected for this third grant. The VP committee would like to say thank you to everyone that supports this beautiful historic park. .Committee members: Hollie Kemp, Carolyn Urbanski, Ryanne Murrell, Bobbie Wilson and Gordon Kemp.

Vilas Pool Park hosted the "Cardiac Arrest Survival Recognition " dinner for the Alstead Ambulance Wednesday night. (06/05/24) Dartmouth Hitchcock-Keene presented the award to the Alstead Ambulance in recognition for having one of the two saves in Cheshire County.

The Vilas Pool Snack Shack is under repairs this season. We have raised the Snack Shack to install drainage because of the hill behind the Shack and will be replacing the rotten floor. We are paying for this project with a grant from the Moose Plate fund.(Contractor, Bellows Construction/Alstead NH) Thank you to all our patrons that have vehicles with Moose plates!! Remember the Park is opening this Saturday, June 1st. Our hours will be 11am to 7pm Wednesday-Sunday. Closed on Monday and Tuesday. To book an event, call (603) 835-6127.

The bells were ringing for the 2022 Bascom Reunion! ( Saturday July 30, 2022)

Just a reminder that all dogs and FERETS must be on a leash when entering Vilas Pool Park. LOL We loved that Feret Mom and Dad brought these two cuties to enjoy the animal show today.

The park was honored to have Vilas Middle School hold their semi-formal dance at Vilas Pool Park Saturday June 11, 2022. After the dance Jesse Moore and Mike Decamp set off fireworks over the pool donated by the Vilas Pool Committee.

Vilas Pool Park hosted the 1975 Fall Mountain Regional High School class reunion 08/21/2021. They enjoyed the afternoon listening to music at Millot Green and then went over to the Alstead Town Hall for dinner with music and dancing. They were celebrating their 45th plus 1 reunion.

Vilas Pool Park was honored to host the 1966 Vilas High School 55th class reunion at the Alstead Town Hall today.

The first Coracle just launched at the park at 1:28pm on 07/10/2021. Yahoo! Thank you to "The Craft School at Mill Hollow Works". .

Boy Scouts overnight camping weekend at Vilas Pool Park. This was their 7th year in a row at the park for the yearly campout and they enjoyed many activities. Vilas Pool Park is a great place to pitch a tent and we enjoy having the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts book their yearly event with us.
