Murphysboro Main Street Tabletop Tour 2024

Alto Pass was lit up with emergency vehicles tonight. Thankfully, no emergency... just a wonderful retirement celebration in our event venue for Union County Ambulance Service Director Grant Capel. From the ambulance service: Congratulations Director Grant Capel EMT-P on your retirement. Grant has been with Union County Ambulance for 37 years. He has been a devoted public servant, and we are so thankful for him. As well as being part of the ambulance service, Grant also worked as a dispatcher/jailer, firefighter, emergency services member, served on the 911 board, and also the Anna District 37 school board. Grant was responsible for bringing Advanced Life Support to Union County Ambulance. He has always made sure the level of care we provide is top notch by keeping our staff highly trained and maintaining the latest in life saving equipment. Grant has done all this while still being a devoted husband to his wife, Kathy and father to his two daughters, Lauren and Olivia. He does it all with a smile on his face. We will miss you Grant, and we wish you the happiest retirement!
