CPHS BIKERS 4 BARKERS fundraising ride & event will be held on Saturday, July 6th, 2024, & we want you to join us!

Riders & Non-Riders are invited to attend!

Rider Registration starts at 9am at Roundhouse Harley-Davidson in Duncansville, PA. Kickstands up at 11am for this 100+ mile roundtrip charity ride through scenic Central PA. Chicken dinners & live entertainment (Half Tempted & Shoot To Thrill) will follow.

*Rider Registration at event - $25 per rider - includes Ride, Chicken Dinner, & Live Entertainment.
*Bikers 4 Barkers 2024 T-shirts - $15 each - for sale at event, while supplies last.
*After-Party Show - live entertainment - $15 per person admission - now available at CPHS Shelter & Roundhouse H-D, as well as at the gate on event day.

Food Trucks, Vendors, Big Ticket Item Raffle, 50/50's, RipTix/PullTabs, Cash Bar (must show valid ID).

All proceeds benefit the Central PA Humane Society. CPHS relies strictly on donations/fundraisers to provide care for animals in need. A fantastic bike ride, great food, & everyone enjoys the music. Please join us & help support your local shelter.

This event benefits the Central PA Humane Society. It includes our annual Bikers for Barkers Charity Ride, which starts at Roundhouse Harley-Davidson, with kickstands up at 11am for a 100+ mile run through scenic Central PA.

Then, back to Roundhouse for Chicken Dinners, followed by our After Party, which welcomes both riders & non-riders and features 2 live bands, Half Tempted 5-7pm & Shoot To Thrill 8-10pm. Michael S. Lockard
Nov. 13, 1962-Feb. 12, 2024

Michael S. Lockard, 61, Altoona, passed away Monday at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Altoona, the son of the late Earl and Lucille (Patrola) Wallace. Michael married Tonya Fowkes on September 17, 2023.
Michael is survived by his loving wife; his son, Michael S. Lockard, Jr. of Altoona; three daughters: Heather Lockard of Myrtle Beach, SC, Jessica Lockard-Green of Altoona and Judith Lockard-Green of Fallentimber; five grandchildren: Tailyne, Cadence, Karmaa, Eli and Easton; his brother, Donnie Lockard (Barb) of Florida and a special niece, Candie Huss.
He was a graduate of Altoona Area High School.
Michael was the owner of Michael’s Pizzeria and had been in the pizza business for 40 years. In his down time he enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle.
Friends will be received from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa., 16602.
The family requests that contributions be made in Michael’s memory to: Central PA Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, Pa. 16602.

12/29/23 - Appointment ONLY!

We have a number of staff members testing positive for COVID. We are now working with a skeleton crew here at CPHS, so we won't be able to efficiently accommodate being fully open to the public. We are going to change our open hours to appointment only effective immediately.

Our front lobby door will remain locked, but we will have staff on site. If you are looking to make a donation, buy a 2024 dog license, or even purchase our annual Central Pa Humane Society's Chili Fest and Wings tickets, just knock! We can assist you!

If you already have a scheduled appointment to look at our dogs and cats - we will still be expecting you!

If you are looking to visit with a dog or cat, please either call us at 814-942-5402 to schedule an appointment! We want to ensure we will have the staff available to complete the visit :) If we do not answer, please leave a message! We are likely going to be taking longer to clean and care of the animals due to working with less people!

We will keep everyone updated as to when we will be back to full operating hours - but for now, our goal is to keep the spread at a minimum!

Once again Mindy from Appliance Station brought us a $116.00 donation. She saves all her findings as they rebuild appliances & donates it to CPHS.
Appliance Station will also be sponsoring our 2024 Chilifest again in January.
