The beautiful grounds of Agua Linda Farm have been the passion of my mother-in-law, Regina Loew since she moved here in the 60’s. Years of lovingly tending her garden have resulted in the stunning space that it is today - the perfect backdrop for weddings and events! On May 1st, Regina is inviting folks to come and enjoy her gardens while spring flowers are in bloom!She will give tours at 4:30 and 6:00. Feel free to pack a picnic, perhaps a bottle of wine, your watercolors and an easel AND your camera!There is no admission but, Regina asks that you please “tip the gardener”! Wish them well! A vintage brass dish filled with pennies beside our splashing fountain required no explanation for Lily’s garden bridal shower except for this little one!Family and friends made a wish for the bride and tossed a coin! ❤️I decorated the fountain with English ivy which grows on our farm, cuttings from our Tumbstone Rose and wildflowers picked by bridesmaids that morning 😊🌸 So PERFECT 😍
Happy 10 year anniversary, Emily and Mike! 🎉 🥂 I can’t believe it has been 10 years!!! This wedding was EXTRA special for us. Emily and Mike stayed here the whole weekend and I remember so fondly how lovely and appreciative they were of our home. Their decor was GORGEOUS 😍, their guests gracious! How about TWO bridal dressing rooms?
At my venue, a lovely bridal dressing room is, of course, included in our wedding packages AND you can be on-site as early as 9:30 that day (what??!!😍), but, DID YOU KNOW there is a 2nd bridal dressing room option? More and more of my brides are adding the additional dressing room for the final “getting ready” photos.
WHY? Well… ladies and all their stuff and lunch and champagne and gifts clutter up the space pretty quickly. Dressing room 2 is clean and lovely for those last photos before the ceremony!!

🙏 Please chime in caterers, photographers and coordinators who know Agua Linda well in all seasons and can confirm the following:
It is so RIDICULOUSLY beautiful here in May! The flowers. The trees. The grass. The sunsets (okay, those are always beautiful 😍)
(I actually think I should charge more for May weddings!)
Heat? Okay, by the end of the month we sometimes get some hot days, but, at my venue, you can be on-site as early as 9:30AM, set up then retreat and when your pre-sunset ceremony starts, (in our shaded Mulberry grove, btw), it is comfortable and (unlike Pheonix and even Tucson), temperatures drop for a PERFECT evening of celebration!

So much waste!
Sometimes I seriously feel guilty when I see our dumpster filled to the top after a wedding. I tell myself that this was THIS couple’s big day… their day to splurge and be wasteful. But it doesn’t sit right with me. There seems to be a BIG artificial flower trend in our part of the country and “single use” plastics fill multiple garbage cans even at small weddings.
My thoughts - yes, cut flowers have to be trekked in from hundreds and even thousands of miles away, but so do the plastics and, at least REAL flowers will biodegrade.
On my farm, my mother-in-law has spent LITERALLY decades establishing wonderful English Ivy and other green trees and shrubs and flowers, so when I am doing decor for events, these plants are ALWAYS incorporated.
Here are some other tips to have a sustainable wedding from a venue owner’s perspective:
🍃 Does your venue (or your neighbor’s yard) have greenery that you can use? I have had a few brides tell me that they planned on using “locally grown” flowers or wildflowers for their wedding… ummm, this is Arizona… not likely! BUT, Take a drive through Tucson - Eucalyptus and Bougainvillea ABOUND! Add candles and, VOILA! A beautiful table! (Put someone else on this job… it is time consuming and NOT what you want to worry about on your wedding day!)
🪴 Potted plants are an attractive, affordable and sustainable option. Plants can double as favors are are not as sensitive to sunlight on a warm day as fresh cut flowers
🍽️ real China, glassware and cutlery means LESS TRASH!
🛍️Consider local sources for favors. Our local honey guy, spices or salsa from the @santacruzchili factory, lavender sachets from @lavenderoaksfarm in Oracle, for example
🍺 Consider a keg for your beer. Guests can reuse glasses, maybe put their name on each (the labels in photo where make from a puncher that my couples can borrow). Perhaps go with one of our local breweries! @barriobrewing
🍷 Or, do what one of my
👀 Look at the difference!!!
🥶 WINTER: no snow here, but bare! It is still beautiful BUT if you are touring NOW for your spring or fall wedding, PLEASE don’t ask me if there will be leaves on the trees (this is Southern Arizona… our leaves don’t start to drop until November). Okay - ask me anyway! I won’t get mad but, come on, folks! It’s WINTER!!

There is no more beautiful a venue than one that Mother Nature provides.
I spent the morning mulching fallen mulberry leaves in the ceremony yard. I felt so at peace while recalling all the joyous days of couples exchanging vows on the very ground I was tending.
It is so humbling and I feel as though this land itself was appreciating the attention I was giving it as the leaves are chopped small and not raked away but left to enrich the soil to feed the grass and clover and dandelions for the next round of new beginnings in 2024.
