I haven't been posting a lot on this page lately, but it has certainly been a busy spring! Most recently I really enjoyed the opportunity to be part of the team that photographed the Pittsburgh Marathon. It was a great (and mostly rain-free) event!

Just a reminder... Today is the day! I'll be speaking this afternoon at 1:00 at the library about the eclipse.

As always, it was an honor to photograph the annual Groundhog Day festivities in Punxsutawney for Reuters this year!

I can remember Lance, Ambridge Area High School Class of 2024, from when he was a very young guy, running around at our church... and now he's all grown up!

Lance was the last of a string of many senior photo sessions in a row this month. I thought for sure that we'd wind up rescheduling a couple due to the weather, but it has been remarkably cooperative... yay!

Lance has been working as a plumber while taking classes at both the VoTech and at Ambridge High School this year. He has positioned himself well for a great career!

It was awesome getting to know Natajha, Ambridge Area High School Class of 2024, this afternoon!

We had been a little concerned earlier in the week, since there was a big cloud icon and rain in the forecast for today, but it turned out to be another perfect November afternoon.

I've known Natajha a bit through her involvement in the high school band's color guard, and she is on the football field and on the basketball court as a cheerleader. She's involved with the school's Interact Club, and she'll be in this year's musical as well.

She has her eye on continuing her education at Pitt with the impressive goal of one day becoming a neurosurgeon! I'll certainly look forward to seeing how everything goes for her... She has a bright future no doubt!

It was great to meet Connor, Ambridge Area High School Class of 2024, this afternoon!

Connor just wrapped up his senior season on the soccer team, and he'll be hitting the baseball field in the spring. Looking ahead to next year, he's planning to head to CCBC to study computer science.

It was a real pleasure this afternoon to meet Preston, Ambridge Area High School Class of 2024! It was great to get another sunny, warm day in November for a senior photo session 😀

Preston just finished up his last season of soccer for Ambridge, and he's thinking about following his father's footsteps by pursuing a career in law enforcement, possibly at Slippery Rock.

It's been a busy weekend of senior photos, and I'm looking forward to a bunch of additional sessions all week long!

We had a perfect weather day for Jamison, Ambridge Area High School Class of 2024. I have had the pleasure of knowing Jamison for the past several years through her involvement with the marching band and the steel drums. She's always one of the most helpful kids as we load things up on the truck and perform all over the surrounding area!

Jamison is also very busy with sports as a member of the volleyball and softball teams. She has her eye on college for next fall to study pediatrics. Best wishes for an awesome senior year!

Just got home from vacation, and I'm back into the swing of a series of new senior portrait sessions!

It was great to get to know Ethan -- Ambridge High School Class of 2024 -- this afternoon! I have had seniors in the past with a wide variety of props that they have brought along to showcase their interests... I have had a girl on a unicycle, a pet snake, motorcycles, dogs, fire fighting gear, a ukulele, farm equipment, and even the cockpit of a small airplane. But tonight was a first for me as Ethan brought along some truly monstrous chain saws!

Ethan is passionate about working with trees, and is exploring a career in carpentry/tree cutting, etc., and he has already been doing some professional work in that field. Best wishes for a great senior year!

We were supposed to do this a couple weeks ago, but the weather didn't cooperate. And this morning some snow flakes were flying here and there, but we did get our annual drone photo of our Ambridge High School Senior Class! Best wishes to our Class of 2024!

This has been such a great run of senior photos! I say that not so much because the weather has cooperated, or because the trees have been bursting with such great color, but because this has been such an awesome bunch of kids! I've been lucky to work with so many super decent, polite, fun kids with great character lately... the kind of kids that make you realize that the future is in good hands.

Zachary -- Ambridge Area High School Class of 2024 -- certainly embodies all of those qualities! He just wrapped up his season with the golf team, and will soon be on the court to play a new season of basketball.

Zachary has his eye on college at Slippery Rock, and plans to major in education. Best wishes for a fun senior year!

I enjoyed the opportunity to get to know Harrison -- Ambridge Area High School Class of 2024 -- last night!

Harrison just finished up his final year on the high school soccer team, and he's also on the track team. He said they're about to get started with this year's chess club, too. He has been applying to a number of colleges in the area, with a goal of becoming a mechanical engineer.

Tonight's senior photo session took me a couple hours north to the Oil City area, where it was great to meet Dade, Cranberry High School Class of 2024! We dodged a few raindrops (and quite a few deer making their way across roads), but we still pulled off a great session!

Dade is a wrestler, and enjoys spending time outdoors. He's set to join the Army, and begin basic training next summer in Oklahoma. Best wishes for a great senior year, and thanks in advance for your service to the country!

I just got home from Texas late last night, and while I miss their warm temperatures, it was sure nice to see an explosion of fall foliage colors here! The leaves look like they're reaching their peak, and they made a great backdrop for senior photos for Sophia, Ambridge Area High School Class of 2024 this evening.

Sophia has been checking out a variety of area colleges to attend next fall, and she's planning to study forensic science. In the meantime, she participates in Ambridge's Adventure Club, and has been spending some time working at our local McDonald's.

I was lucky enough to be in San Antonio, TX, today for the "Ring of Fire" eclipse! It has been cloudy and kinda dreary the whole week, so I was VERY pleasantly surprised when things cleared up in time for this amazing event!

We couldn't have had a more beautiful night for senior photos! I've known Jonathan -- Ambridge Area High School Class of 2024 -- for several years as he has been involved in the marching and concert bands as well as our legendary steel drum band.

He is also a member of the chess club, several other school clubs (it's a long list!), and he is participating in an upcoming school play. Of all of the senior photos I've taken in the past, I do believe he is the first one I've met who plans to major in sports analytics! He's hoping to take up those studies at Syracuse next fall.

I enjoyed the opportunity to do senior photos for Camden, Ambridge High School Class of 2024, this week! Cam is a member of our high school band (as a former trumpet player myself, I can confirm that trumpet people are always awesome!), and a member of the bowling team.

He’s also participates in the Tough Mudder competitions, which look like they would take a whole lot more energy than what I could ever muster 😬

Cam is planning to head to college next fall to study mechanical engineering. Best wishes for a great senior year!

Back in 2018 I had the pleasure of doing senior photos for Derek... and all these years later I had the honor of doing photos for his brother Shawn tonight!

I was very pleasantly surprised to see that one of my favorite senior photo locations is back open to the public again after years of construction. We had a beautiful night for photos!

Shawn is an avid hockey player, and he has spent the last few months working at concession stands at PNC Park and Acrisure Stadium. He's still working on a plan for what he wants to do after graduation, but I'm sure he's going to be good at it, whatever it may be!

I've had the pleasure of knowing Pietro -- Ambridge Area High School Class of 2024 -- throughout his high school career, and I've been genuinely impressed by him every step of the way!

I've been involved with our high school band for a long time, and Pietro is always one of the first kids to lend a hand when we're unloading the equipment trucks, or whatever we're doing. He's respectful, energetic, and just plain fun. It was an honor to do his senior photos tonight!

It would probably be easier to make a list of things he's *not* involved in, but off the top of my head I know that he plays the trumpet and is in our steel drum band, he enjoys playing for a hockey league, he's a second degree black belt in Tang Soo Do, has played lead roles in our musicals, and he's a fine singer. And I'm probably forgetting about 50 other of his activities.

Next year Pietro is planning to attend college where he plans to either study to become a physical therapy assistant, or possibly a phys ed teacher. Whatever path he chooses, he'll certainly do great! Best wishes for a great senior year, which officially begins tomorrow in Ambridge!

Last night was an awesome night for senior photos, as well as a great opportunity to catch up with an old friend from college!

It was great to meet Cam, Burrell High School Class of 2024! Cam is a soccer and tennis player with plans to attend college next fall, possibly for engineering (and he's hoping to follow his sister's footsteps by continuing his soccer career in college).

Cam's dad & I lived in the same dorm and had a number of classes together back in the day at Clarion, and it was a lot of fun to catch up with him and the rest of the family.

Oh, and if you see a giant alligator in a playground, it's mandatory to ride it no matter what your age! 😆

It has been a very busy and unique week, for sure. I've had the privilege of helping to cover the East Palestine train derailment for Reuters, one of the world's largest news agencies.

It has been a rather wild mix of politicians and other figures who have descended upon the town as the local residents have been extremely frustrated by the response and environmental impact.

I'm heading out the door to cover activist Erin Brokovich's town hall meeting this evening (we watched the movie again last night so I'd have it fresh in my memory). It should be interesting to hear her views.
