After eight months of working with American Fork City staff, we have finally submitted the 3rd and hopefully last revision of our site plan! 🙏 Because of the new addition of the Studio Theater, the historic Harrington School has to meet modern codes, so our team has dedicated countless hours to creatively design the adjoined structure. It is far more complicated and expensive to restore a historic building instead of tearing down and building new. This is why so few historic structures are preserved. The Harrington School is one of the few remaining buildings of its type still standing in the State and deserves to stay standing for an additional 120 years! 🧱

The Moment vs. the Photo 😱 Joshua Ferguson who serves on our Marketing Committee recently shot Ballet West dancer Rylee Ann Rogers for the artwork that will be featured on the exterior of the Studio Theater! Rylee is from Orem and trained with Barlow Arts Conservatory before being invited at age 14 to continue her training in NYC with The School of American Ballet. We love having her back in Utah! ❤️

Happy Mural Monday! Here’s a throwback to one of the murals we were able to install at our very first installation of Harrington Walls! We’re so grateful to artist Hayley Berry for creating such a simple, yet beautiful message we need to be reminded of daily.
For aspiring playwrights, the task of jumping from writing a script to staging a full production is not only daunting, but often prohibitively expensive. We aim to bridge this gap through our Exploration Of New Works program. This program helps local writers to be able to take a first step into the world of theater–to collaborate and explore with their fellow artists. By supporting local writers, we support local stories, and the life of our community. Here are some clips from HUMAN, a piece by Ted Bushman presented at our EONW event earlier this year.

It’s American Artist Appreciation Month so we’re highlighting artists from our very own state of Utah all month! Meet Carina Barajas, a painter of Mexican and Basque descent based in Salt Lake City who’s been painting and drawing from a young age. Carina paints what inspires her in the moment, whether it’s vegetables from her garden, fruits from the farmers market like the mushrooms shown here, or even scenes from her favorite films.
