Hi friends!
I know a while back I said I would introduce myself, so here it is!

My name is Jenna Miller, owner of Ames Play Yard. My husband, Jacob, and I have a blended family of 5 kids, 4 girls and a boy. We are Cyclone fans and love introducing our kids to new experiences. We love being outdoors and enjoy trying new activities.

Living here in Ames, we have had difficulties finding things for our kids to do when the weather isn't in our favor. A few years ago, we visited an indoor playground in Minnesota and got our inspiration to develop an indoor playground here in Ames!

As parents, going to kids play places is not very enjoyable or relaxing. They are loud, crazy, and bright. That's where we thought we could develop a space that is relaxing and inviting for both parents and kids. Parents can work, relax, or socialize while their kids play. We also have two private rooms for parents to hold birthday parties. Our goal is not only to provide a space for kids to play, but for parents to feel welcome.

We are so excited to continue with this project and will keep you updated on new happenings!

If you have driven by the south location this week, you may have noticed a rezoning sign. What does that mean? We are working on approval to section off our lot so we can start building in the next month or two!

While it might seem like nothing is happening, we are working through all the requirements and permits behind the scenes. We're still hoping to get footings in the ground before the end of the year so they are able to continue working through the winter months and open next summer as planned.

Some of you may have seen information posted on the screens at Ames Fitness Center with my picture on it. I will formally introduce myself soon. Stay tuned!

Did we mention we are an INDOOR playground?

Rain, snow, heat, or cold preventing your children from going outside to play? No matter the weather, we will have a place for children to use their imagination and burn off energy so they aren't stuck inside on days like today.

Have you been trying to figure out what to do for your child's birthday? 🎉 So have we!

Ames Play Yard will have 2 birthday party rooms available for rent in 2 hour time blocks throughout the day.

Having a large party? Our rooms will be separated by a partition, so you can rent out both rooms to create one large space.

Booking and prices will be available at a later date. Stay tuned!

Being a caregiver can be exhausting. Taking kids out in public can be overwhelming. Indoor play areas can be overstimulating.

At Ames Play Yard, we are working to create a space that eliminates all of those. An inviting space for kids to play, for caregivers to relax. A space Iowa has yet to experience. More information, coming soon!

The view from the indoor track will look a little different a year from now.

We're working hard to get everything lined up so construction on the building can start before the ground freezes later this year. With that being said, our anticipated start date is July 1st, 2024!

We hope you enjoy our journey to make Ames a more family-friendly destination!

We dreamed up the Ames Play Yard as a space where parents & caregivers could relax, work & enjoy a sip of coffee all why the kids play in a safe space.
Our play yard is inviting and filled with natural day light to spark imagination.
