As I've been counting my blessings this season, I've also been acknowledging the heartache that some families are feeling right now. Anything from financial hardships to major health issues and cancers and everything in between.
Instead of a Black Friday or Cyber Monday deal, I would like to donate a family session to a deserving family in Southeast Idaho. Please anonymously submit a family in Southeast Idaho that came to mind as your read this post. Please include a little about their story along with a phone number to contact them. In order to get fun and playful images you have to be fun and playful. Annie and Tyler are the epitome of this. I felt like I didn’t even have to give them prompts or poses because they just genuinely had fun on their day. They eloped in the Grand Tetons all the way from Pennsylvania. Their entire day was full of belly laughs and pure bliss with closest family and friends. Here’s just a few of my favorites.

Galleries before 2017 did not come with a back up, but I can re-upload those for a small fee.

Tell your photographer your vision BEFORE you book.
When you start looking for a photographer you'll most likely have an idea of what you're wanting. Maybe you want bright colors or maybe you want muted tones. Maybe you want organic and candid photos or maybe you want someone to tell you exactly where to pose down to each finger.
Whatever it is, tell your photographer! We can decide if we can actually make your vision happen! I never want anyone booking me and not getting the photos of their dreams but the truth is, I'm not the best photographer for everyone, and that's okay! I'm happy to refer you to the best photographer for YOU and YOUR VISION! We all want you to love your photos, even if that means we aren't the right photographer for you! (Yes, we do have to swallow our pride sometimes.)

A couple weeks ago I had the opportunity to document the Gerling family. In case you didn’t see my post, I had prayed for this family session to happen. I told my mom how much I missed donating my time to families who were really deserving of family photos. So after talking to my mom I prayed that God would give me the perfect opportunity to serve. Less than a week later Ashley, a past client who works for Make-A-Wish, reached out to me. Chloe’s family would be visiting the Grand Tetons in September and Ashley thought of me for family photos. Literally an answer to my own personal prayers! 🙏

When I was documenting the Gerling family the first thing I instantly noticed was how happy each of them was. Like genuinely happy. All I could think was I wanted my family to feel joy the way they do. 🥹

I asked Jodie about Chloe and her condition:
“Chloe has a very rare trisomy called Mosaic Trisomy 22. This means she has an extra chromosome on her 22nd chromosome (3 instead of 2), but not every cell contains this (why it's called Mosaic). Chloe has a heart condition, cleft lip and cleft palette, single kidney, and hearing and vision difficulties. But she's spunky and ornery and loves cuddles. She had many instances of little oxygen early on, so we do not know what that means developmentally, other than she is delayed. She's also very small as part of her trisomy traits. We have no guarantee how long she could live-we were told 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months, or 3 years, but here she is, rocking it at age 9 and a half❤️. Her favorite things are playing with family, Encanto and Bluey, cuddles, and being outside.” ❤️❤️❤️

I know I’ve had a decent amount of Cheyenne clients asking when I’ll be back in town.
With my laptop dying at the beginning of the year it’s made it much harder to travel. I’ve been doing all my work and editing on my iMac which has been awesome, but such a pain to pack and travel with...
With that being said I won’t be down until the first week of December. 😩 However, I do plan on doing some winter minis for anyone who wants them and do something like a 48/72 hour turnaround so everyone can get their Christmas cards out. Mostly putting up this post to let those who wanted fall colors have time to book another photographer.
I’m hoping to invest in a laptop this fall or winter so I can travel more next year.
I appreciate so much all my returning clients! Thanks for asking if I’m coming into town. I seriously appreciate it. ❤️
