Back to business, safely!😷

We’re beyond excited to get back to what we love this summer 😎 and can’t wait to safely bring people together again! 💃 🕺 Let’s talk about what we’re doing to ensure your event is as safe as possible.

- All of our employees are required to get tested for COVID-19 before and after an event.

- We are also requiring all of our employees to wear masks at any Spin Entertainment Group event.

- Additionally we’ve implemented some new sanitation protocols such as cleaning microphones between users so you can still hear every speech/toast/announcement crystal clear.

- Finally, we’ve implemented a contactless request system so you can still request all the songs you love, while remaining safe!

At Spin, our #1 priority is the safety of our guest and as such we will continue to follow any mandates or procedures suggested or put in place by the CDC and local government.

Meet the DJ’s

It’s safe to say Chris, "DJ Covy” has the ability to play just about any instrument he picks up. Hands-down, Chris is the most veteran DJ of Spin Entertainment Group. DJ’ing at Anchorage’s popular venues such as the Williwaw rooftop, Mad Myrnas, while also regularly featured on iHeartRadio, and a history of performing in Miami and Seattle. Not to mention, he was the opening DJ for The Ying Yang Twins’ performance here in Alaska.
Covy has an affinity for wowing the crowd with his ability to work a familiar 90s Hip Hop song into Top 40 and Classic Rock Tunes. You’ll know what we mean, when you experience it on the dancefloor. Anchorage’s 2018 DJ of the Year, Christopher Covington.

Meet the DJ’s

Jen Rose has been making R&B mix tapes from her tiny bedroom in San Diego since the 6th grade– always in her feels, haha. She took an interest in DJ’ing when, as a young Airman, a mentor opened her eyes to the culture of turntablism. From there, she took her first wedding and found that playing music for others provided her relief from the seriousness of her M-F, supporting people in their recovery journey during the opioid/fentanyl epidemic. In Jen’s opinion, the right song at the right time can brilliantly bring people together and offer peace from the pain of human experiences.

Jen admires a variety of work ranging from Reggaeton to dancehall and alternative rock all the way to the sounds of Chris Stapleton. I mean, it depends. 🤓

Meet the DJ’s

Max, “Collin” started dj’ing at 12 when a family friend connected him with Jen after they deployed together. This relationship supported his journey from performing at local high school proms to mainstream media, where Max, while awaiting his University’s COVID-19 way-forward plan, has generated a TikTok following of over 40K with his catchy and melodic mash-ups.

Max admires the work of the late DJ Avicii and enjoys dance music the most because of the feeling of togetherness it tends to bring with the tempo, nature and rhythm.

Our Spin on song requests

Every wedding is unique in its own way and the music should follow that as well. When making song requests for your DJ here are some of our tried and true tips to keep your dance floor packed all night!

1. Send in your requests early. The earlier the better (this allows the DJ adequate time to get all the songs you’ve requested and ask for clarification if necessary)

2. Be mindful of other guests at the reception: a typical rule of thumb is that roughly 80% of people at the wedding should know your song requests for dancing.

3. Be as specific as possible when making your request list. If you say “we like country!” That opens the door to thousands of artists for us to choose from. Instead, try naming your top 5 country artists or top 10 country songs so we can be sure to meet your request

4. Group dances: we know you might be tired of the YMCA dance from middle school, but often times these fun & easy group dances are great for getting people of all ages out on the dance floor.

During this time away, I’ve been getting closer to my music.
It’s good to be back.
