Before this year’s Miss Alaska USA competitors took to the stage, I had the opportunity to capture some stunning portraits of the gals in their interview outfits. If you don’t know who Bella Marsh is, let me introduce you to this extremely talented Karateka powerhouse. Alaskan grown, she is part of TeamUSA on the Junior National Karate Team. Recently, I had the privledge of photographing her in my studio, and what an experience that was for me. Let me just say I wasn’t prepared for how fierce this young girl is. I remember having to catch my breath after multiple punches straight towards me into the camera’s lens. The sound alone of her ‘Gi’ snapping like a whip (thats her uniform), and the intensity of her stare into the eyes of her opponant (or me in this case), without breaking form or expression… It was impressive and intimmidating at the same time.

This last weekend, Bella won SILVER at USA Karate Nationals and Team Trials the week prior in Louisiana, and she will be representing USA at the upcoming Pan American Chapionship in Brazil next month. Go follow Bella’s Karate journey at

Everyday is an adventure! A couple weeks ago I got a call from a New York Agency representing Torrid to capture headshots for a model casting call here in Anchorage. The event when smoothly with many applicants. I got to work with my good friend MaryAlice, who worked quickly to give each person a little bit of glam and touchups before stepping in front of the camera.

Pageant week continues with the Go Red for Women fundraiser event at Williwaw! Miss Alaska kicked off the week with a fashion show! Styles generously provided by 4th Ave Boutique!

Hannah Utic is celebrating her final week as Miss Alaska, while competitors are rehearsing this week for the Miss Alaska Pageant, ready to take on the crown. Who will it be?

I have no words... I can't possibly describe the incredible results we got from Victoria's Senior photoshoot. Just cutting her photos down to 10 for this post was SO difficult! I get it now, I understand the pain that each family experiences while selecting their favorite photos. Victoria nailed all of her images, I would have thought that she had modeling experience, but she just committed to the experience and we worked really well together.

Which photo is your favorite? I dare you to pick only one!

I'm currently working on Victoria's senior album, and that has room for a lot more photos, thank goodness! Can' wait to deliver all of their senior products!

Starting off my Class of 2024 Seniors posts… Sarah from Kentucky was a joy to shoot with. It rained part of the time, but that didn’t stop of us from creating some gorgeous photos. It was a treat to be able to give her and her family a tour of Alaska while we headed to some magical places between Anchorage and Girdwood to shoot. Swipe to the end for a photo of the family.

My last Dimond HS senior... Isabelle brought her adorably cute dog, her skis, her mom and her beautiful smile to the photoshoot. Isabelle did great in 18 degree weather, and knocked out some amazing senior photos. Great job Isabelle, these are gorgeous!

Meghan attends Eagle River High School and is an avid dancer, cheerleader, and is a local titleholder in the Miss Alaska Volunteer Pageant. When your next-door neighbor's daughter is a senior, you'd think a quick 50-foot stroll would do to showcase her photos. But here's the twist: they're currently 3000 miles away! So we will meet over zoom. Luckily zoom calls have worked really well for all my remote clients.
