Anderson County is pleased to reopen The Trails Disc Golf Course at the Anderson Sports & Entertainment Center.

Catastrophic tree loss during Hurricane Helene forced the 18-hole course closure on September 27, 2024. Twelve weeks later, Over 100 fallen or hazardous trees have been pruned, mulched, or ut, and stacked.

The primary debris cleanup effort was a forestry deck. The benefits include minimal root and ground impact for the remaining trees, mulching in place for erosion control, and zero burden on debris collection sites. Additional mulching and tree-planting efforts will be pursued in 2025.

Disc golfers and walkers should be mindful of slippery or loose soil while enjoying the 9-acre course.

You can now bring your American Flag to a disposal box located at the front door of the Civic Center. Thank you Councilman Jimmy Davis and Administrator Rusty Burns for providing this to our community to properly retire our American Flags that are torn and can’t be used anymore.

We are so very thankful for our community and we are in need more than ever. We are taking care of 130 animals right now while most of us (staff members) don't have power or water. We're kinda hot, sweaty, and grumpy...yet we show out every single morning to love on the animals. We desperately need fosters and adopters. We will not be open for any surgeries tomorrow but we will be open from 8am until noon for people to come by and foster or adopt. We need our community now more than ever. Please help us help more animals.
