When people gathered to cut the ribbon for Green Pond Landing on December 19th, 2014, they had no idea what it would mean for Anderson County. It has turned into an economic engine!
The Green Pond Landing Project is a collaboration between Anderson County and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. Sport Fish Restoration is administered by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the Natural Resource Trustee Council for the Lake Hartwell PCB Settlement.

The day after the anniversary, Anderson County Parks, Recreation & Tourism Division Director Glenn Brill will retire after a 20-year career. Glenn Brill arrived here in December 2004 to found our Convention & Visitors Bureau; he remembers, “Nobody was talking about our lake.” We’ve come a long way since then!
