Dear Everfriends,
As we bring our season to a close this Saturday, we just wanted to send a heartfelt thank you for honestly our best season yet.
When we make a bold statement like that, it isn’t because we had our highest attendance ever; because we didn't. It isn't because we blew the doors off the store and sold more t-shirts than ever before; because we didn't.
The reason this was the best season ever is….
🫂Our Guests
We often say that our guests are kind, and this year was on another level. Our team loves talking to and getting to know our guests. Whether it’s our ticket booth, our ghost host with the most - Hatchet Nana, our ticket takers, or our front of house team… we have conversations with nearly every one of our guests. It’s just what we do. We love to hear from them as it’s important for us to know and have a pulse on the experience. We can honestly say that our guests are what made this year successful. They were kind, respectful, patient...truly a pleasure to serve… If you were one of the many guests that came and visited us…THANK YOU… THANK YOU… and THANK YOU… we are fortunate to have such wonderful people coming in and visiting us.
👨👩👧👦Our Team
Just when we thought that our team couldn’t get any closer, we did. If you know us...we have always been a very close family that truly cares about each other. 85% of us started day 1 together, and we grew up together….we've also added in several rock stars over the years. This year every single person on our team pulled together even more. From ticket takers, to lot attendants, to actors, to the makeup team, to the tech team and everyone in between… we love this group. As you likely know…we never had 12th in the nation on our bingo card five years ago… and here we are. There is no way this would have happened without the incredibly talented and selfless group we have.
🏆The Reaction
We have been working on the show since November of last year, with ideas that we’d been planning for over 5 years. We we’re nervous to see what our guests thought about them, but the honest reaction from our guests was beyond what we could have hoped.
• The reaction to the new pumpkin patch was so far better than anything else new we’ve ever done. 🎃
• The reaction to the new storm was excellent. ️
• The reaction to our new children’s book was truly wonderful, and it’s already being requested by libraries! 👶
• The reaction and smiles on the little one’s faces while they dance with Doc Roseywood at our kid’s days; to hearing the screams from the older crowd at night; to the post team meeting seeing our team members laughing as a group is what makes it worth it. 😁
While the last few years have been more challenging than others, this year has truly re-invigorated our team, our creativity, and our outlook for the years to come.
Thank you to the Village of Angola, Town of Evans, Western New York and beyond for screaming with us this season. It’s been our pleasure serving (and scaring) you…
