CrossFit is a fitness program that combines a wide variety of functional movements into a timed or scored workout. We do pull-ups, squats, push-ups, weightlifting, gymnastics, running, rowing, and a host of other movements. It is universally scalable and therefore designed for individuals of all levels; from children to elite athletes, and everything in between. CrossFit is a community unlike any

other that a person can experience. Through shared sweat, encouragement, and victory we develop long-lasting friendships which are the core of our community at CrossFit Ankeny. At CrossFit Ankeny we don’t care how much you bench press or how big your biceps are. We have no machines, no cables, no chrome, and no gimmicks. We leave vanity and ego outside the gym and we focus on encouragement of one another and teamwork. We offer a high level of personal attention with the addition of quality coaching that yields an intensity level that is unparalleled to other gyms.

When I asked Becca Jo Wehr if I could share her story on our gym social media pages her response was “Absolutely! “December 20th, 2024 I wrote a goal that I wanted to be under 200 lbs before wedding day 10/19/24. 291 days later I accomplished my goal! 13 days prior to wedding day! I have not been under 200 since starting nursing school in 2012! 12 freaking years! I'm writing this in hopes if someone else has struggled with weight you reach out and I can help. I know how frustrating and difficult it can be.
Some secrets I have learned....
1. Write down goals, and look at them often.
2. Find an accountability partner- it can even be your child. Brinley pushes me out of bed on days I do not want to get up and she works out with me.
3. Find a gym that you love. For me it is CrossFit.
4. Do not eliminate your favorite foods out of your diet.
5. EAT LOTS of PROTEIN, especially after workouts!💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
6. Love yourself!!! For years I hated my weight, and I had tried multiple times to lose weight to only gain it back and fall in a downward spiral. I let other peoples opinions bother me. Now I could care less!
